Chapter 148: What We Decided To Do.
Vulely: “…”
Guanyu: “…”
Going back and forth, long enough for Celia to find and migrate Runeth’s new, main wife to our estate; Guanyu and me were still… at a loss. It doesn’t help that we currently don’t know the whole truth just yet. The easiest solution, that is, talking to Celia, is actually the hardest option for us to do, you see…
Or rather, we’ve been avoiding the truth for as long as we could. To be fair, it is very unlikely that Celia lied, or let us come to a false conclusion back then, when we were shown those threads connected to her and us. None of the harem spoke of how the threads looked like; just that they were all the same.
Celia: “Thread of Love? What do you want to know about it? Ah, I haven’t enhanced that spell at all, so it is the same as it always is. No changes, I mean.” She replied with a calm tone.
Guanyu: “I… There is the potential that your wives, including me, misunderstood their positions; all based around those threads of yours.” She explained in reply, tone nervous, unfitting how the Cultivator usually conducts herself.
Celia: “How so, and in what way?” She replied with a head tilt, already long since forgetting what happened a while ago.
Guanyu: “That’s…” She hesitated once more.
Our wife is no fool, but, as part of the healing process… Celia picked up the good habit of quickly forgetting useless, or unimportant negative memories. Again, she isn’t doing this out of her being a bad person.
Celia isn’t tricking us, either. If she was, Guanyu would have revealed the trick, and properly scolded Celia for doing such a thing already by now. Instead, it is merely a miscommunication, about a subject that all the wives would, if asked, prefer to leave unanswered.
Guanyu: “You see Thread of Love fully, while we cannot. They all looked the same. As such, we assumed that… your heart and Soul felt the same level of love for us.” She finally explained after calming down, returning to her normal self.
Celia: “Ah, I see.” She replied with a light nod.
Guanyu: “…”
Celia: “?”
Guanyu: “Celia, what is the truth of our connections? It’s impossible for us all… to be equal; a mere illusion of our group’s hopeful imagination. Isn’t that right, the reality of things, Celia?” She asked with a serious tone.
Celia: “Impossible? Are you doubting my love, Guanyu? And, no, Destined Lovers aren’t real; nor is Thread of Love absolute. Deep love or not, relationships can break, you know.” She replied with a raised eyebrow, tone mostly playful; like the Cultivator was being… silly.
Eh? Shit, shit! Celia is doing that thing where she… has one thing over someone; and will act smug and teasing about it!!! Luckily, this aura is being directed solely to Guanyu; me being free from our wife’s teasing words and vibes!…
Guanyu: “So… the truth isn’t as bad as I thought; but not as amazing as our delusions, either?” She mused with a thinking pose.
Celia: “I mean, in my view… it is amazing. Do you want to know the complete truth, Guanyu?” She proposed with a cheeky smile.
Guanyu: “…”
