Celestial Bloodline

Chapter 880: That foolish jerk better not die!

Chapter 880: That foolish jerk better not die!

Kyle halted in the middle of the platform, casually brushing his clothes with a smirk. He tilted his head to gaze at the stunned elder who had commenced the battle.

“Shouldn’t you announce my victory?”

His words snapped the gathered crowd out of their stupor. They gasped at Rion’s figure, who was sprawled outside the platform, the man’s expression a mixture of disbelief and shock as he stared at Kyle’s tall figure.

Gvette hurriedly closed his gaping mouth and cheered for Kyle. The other Celestials from his clan followed suit immediately.

The elderly Celestial finally shook off his daze and announced to everyone loudly.

“The victor is Kyle!”

Rion leaped to his feet, indignant.

“Bullshit! I don’t agree to this! He cheated! Or else how can a second stage Celestial defeat a third stage! He is definitely hiding his true strength, this deceitful bastard!”

Kyle met his dual-colored eyes directly, his demeanor calm, collected, and even casual.

“Rematch? I apologize, but I don’t have so much useless time to waste. Regardless…”

He trailed off and looked at the elders.

“…If the overseers of the match think we should, then we can have a rematch.”

Rion seethed with fury, yet he didn’t climb the platform again. Though his anger was evident, he wasn’t a fool. Kyle had finished the battle with just one blow; however, who knows how much this infuriating tall man would beat him the second time? The spot he had been struck still ached! There was no way he was climbing back up to fight!

“Y-You…! Just you wait!”

After saying this, he vanished as if running away with his tail tucked between his legs, making the shocked crowd speechless.

The Celestial who had commenced the battle cleared his throat, embarrassed. He really couldn’t believe this scaredy-cat was one of the disciples of their clan leader.

“There was no foul play. Kyle didn’t cheat. I watched the battle. It ended rather quickly, but he defeated Rion fair and square.”

All those who had witnessed the battle, unlike the weak Celestials, and saw just how Kyle had defeated Rion with the speed of the natural law of wind and the raw power of the natural law of thunder agreed with him. Still, no one from the opposing side cheered.

They indeed liked good battles. But why would they be happy when their clan had just lost face, and very brutally at that?

Many eyes were glued to Kyle’s back as he jumped down from the platform casually, sauntering towards Gvette and the rest.

All of a sudden, he halted, casting a look back that made many collectively flinch.

His voice, laced with a strange kind of natural authority, cut through the air.

“I believe that the natural dungeon this fight was for belonged to our clan for this month?”

One of the elderly Celestials from the Dawnfeather clan nodded his head.

“Indeed, it belongs to your clan.”

He paused for a second and smiled.

“If you ever want to leave that clan and join another, our gates are always open. Our clan leader is generous and gives the new ones many resources. You wouldn’t regret it.”

Upon hearing him, Gvette immediately jumped forward to hide Kyle. But being shorter, he couldn’t fully conceal him.

Still, he bristled with a hiss.

It was quite common for people to steal members from other clans if they thought those people had a lot of potential, but he never thought this old hag would actually have the audacity to try it so blatantly!

“Has the Dawnfeather clan lost all shame? Don’t you have any fear of our leader left? Trying to steal his future disciple, huh?”

Behind him, Kyle’s eyebrow twitched.

’When did I even agree to be Ares’ disciple? That petty man is spreading fake rumors.’

The Dawnfeather clan elders shrugged.

One of them glanced straight at Kyle.

“The decision rests with the young man. If he decides to leave, who can stop him?”

Gvette’s eyes widened in disbelief and he whipped his head toward Kyle like the other Celestials who accompanied them, waiting for him to reject the Dawnfeather clan offer. But to their shock, Kyle simply nodded.

“I will keep the offer in mind.”

The Dawnfeather clan elders nodded at him, secretly looking at each other smugly. They would talk with their clan leader and make this young Celestial join their clan.

If only they knew Kyle was merely trying to provoke Ares with his words, aware that his actions would surely reach the man. It was revenge for giving him so many missions.

Kyle turned to the dazed Gvette.

“Let’s not waste any more time and leave. I still have 11 more battles to fight for the day.”

He began to float and disappeared towards the clan’s exit without another word. Gvette and the other Celestials could only trail him silently, already inwardly sending telepathic messages to their clan members to inform Ares that Kyle was actually extraordinary and that others were trying to steal him.

As they left the Dawnfeather clan, ready to use the same portal they had arrived from to journey to another clan, under the aggrieved stare of the golden-eyed Celestial whose natural law Kyle had stolen earlier, the air abruptly became heavy with pressure.

Kyle nearly collapsed to his knees, but he forced himself to remain standing, even as blood trickled from his sealed lips. Around him, everyone fell to their knees.

A resounding shout echoed from within the Dawnfeather clan, commanding all to bow.

“The rulers are passing by! Bow down!”

The voice was rather young. It was the voice of the Dawnfeather clan leader, who had sensed the overwhelming presence of some rulers and didn’t want any of his clan members to incur their wrath, lest they be utterly annihilated and wiped out entirely.

He had no clue at all why the rulers had arrived above his insignificant, small clan, but whatever the reason, he would rather stay a thousand paces away from them.

Gvette and the others, who had fallen to their knees and were struggling against the heavy pressure, stilled in their spots upon hearing the sudden announcement. Their hearts pounded as they lowered their eyes.

Even the golden-eyed Celestial bowed.

One of the Celestials tried to force Kyle to his knees, but like a wall, he didn’t budge.

Wiping the crimson stain from his lips, he turned his head, his eyes like shards of ice as they instantly locked onto the ethereal figures—two men and two ladies—floating above the Dawnfeather clan’s territory. The four of them hadn’t actually stepped inside the barrier around the clan, but even then, their pressure was immensely powerful.

Also, they were surrounded by numerous winged beings, all clad in white attire, their presence radiating an otherworldly aura.

Kyle’s eyes glazed over, turning entirely green, as he noticed a familiar figure. His heart hammered against his ribs, and a mirthless, cold laugh escaping his lips. He never expected to see the man so soon, not before Azazeal got his hands on him.

“Haha…!”

Hearing him, Gvette and the hearts of all those kneeling around him sank. Only one thought ran through their heads: They were going to die. The rulers were going to end them all because of this insane bastard!

Kyle wasn’t deterred, though. He watched the man, his eyes narrowing to take in the familiar features he saw in the illusions he had watched in the lost treasure tomb.

A pair of familiar cyan eyes, now deeper, combined with the platinum blonde hair, which now had a hint of silver in it.

He was tall, even taller than Kyle’s current height, clad in a luxurious, expensive outfit. He portrayed the very picture of an honest and kind man, with an aloof expression.

Kyle sealed his lips shut when he wanted to laugh again at the irony. His eyes crinkled with mirth, dancing within their depths.

It was him.

Nathaniel.

It really was.

The very man who began the destruction of his universe and the suffering of Azazeal.

He didn’t lower his cold gaze, even as he struggled to breathe. His eyes were riveted on the man. Maybe he was too insignificant for someone so powerful to notice or even acknowledge, but the tall man never looked back. Floating so high like a mighty being, looking so clean and pristine when he had reached that stage by stealing and killing.

How utterly laughable. Truly.

Kyle’s ears rang as a winged individual in white, one of the many figures surrounding the four ethereal beings, abruptly shouted.

“We didn’t intend to intrude upon the clan without warning, but the four esteemed rulers are in pursuit of a Dark Celestial.”

The man paused for a second.

“A being of immense power. He infiltrated the rulers’ territory and attempted to cause chaos. However, before he could succeed, the rulers swiftly subdued him. Despite his injuries, that Celestial managed to escape by exploiting an ancient, vile natural law. The four rulers are searching for that Celestial and stopped to survey the clan’s domain. Hopefully, the clan leader doesn’t mind.”

Instantly, the Dawnfeather clan leader responded without hesitation.

“You must be jesting. Why would I mind? But have you all sensed that Dark Celestial around or inside our territory?”

The winged man shook his head.

“Unfortunately, he’s not here, even though he rushed in this direction. Then we shall take our leave, clan leader.”

With that, the four rulers and everyone with them vanished into thin air just as abruptly as they appeared above the clan territory.

Kyle gasped, but he didn’t have time to worry about that. His eyes were wide.

’An injured Dark Celestial…? Don’t tell me Azazeal bulldozed his way into the rulers’ land without planning to kill Nathaniel?!’

He gritted his teeth and disappeared just as Gvette had risen to his feet to smack him for what he did in the rulers’ presence.

’That foolish bastard better not die! He is not allowed to! Only I can eliminate him!’

Gvette stared at his hand and the empty space before him, then he cried out.

“Where the hell did Kyle go? Did he follow the rulers? Find him before that madman brings about the end of our clan!!”
