“My stats are already so high! To think I started with such pitiful numbers…! But isn’t this class incredible?! Three skills in one, boosted stats, and it looks like the level cap increased by a hundred—that’s the standard, I suppose, but that’s perfectly fine anyway,” Elayne thought excitedly.

As she reflected, dozens of skeletal hands fused into a colossal skeletal hand behemoth behind her. The Tier 3 monster roared and charged with ferocious power.

She swiftly dodged its massive claws, rolling across the ground before kicking off and leaping high. She commanded her Undead to strike the Tier 3 beast.

“Go!”

She had already raised over a dozen Sporeborns, each marked with a Twilight Sigil that amplified their strength. Whenever she spread her spores and revived a corpse into a Sporeborn, they usually mutated, gaining new names. Their bones darkened or turned completely black, their ghostly blue eyes shifted to glowing gold, and metallic gold-like material coated their claws. They overflowed with light and darkness as they attacked, unleashing the power of the Circle of Twilight.

“GROOAARRR!”

The giant Bone Behemoth screamed, firing dozens of crimson beams from its eyes. Several Sporeborns stepped forward, forming massive shields of light and darkness to protect the others while the rest charged energy, opened their bony jaws, and unleashed eclipsing beams toward the monster.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

In mere seconds, they weakened the behemoth and caused it to stagger, losing its balance and ability to fight back. Elayne continuously drained its Death Essence, depleting its Nether reserves and making its body far more vulnerable to damage.

Then…

“Destroy it!”

The Sporeborns roared in unison. Their sigils blazed with light and darkness as their claws and jaws glowed with twilight power. They pierced the giant Bone Behemoth’s bony frame and tore it apart, bringing it crashing to the ground with a thunderous impact.

BAAAM!

“Mycelial Dominion!”

Elayne wasted no time. She spread her spores across the behemoth’s corpse, rapidly establishing a colony within its bones. Roots, moss, and glowing mushrooms unified the shattered remains, holding them tightly together. The monster’s combined soul was trapped inside, enslaved by the fungal network.

“GROOAARRR!”

As the Bone Behemoth roared once more, it gained a Twilight Sigil. Its bones grew denser and blacker, now clad in intimidating golden armor.

“A-Amazing…” Elayne whispered in awe for a moment. “Wait—but isn’t there any limit at all?!”

“I was wondering the same!” Gardenia appeared beside her. “Wow, it’s chaotic inside your Spiritual Heart. There’s a giant circle made of three fragmented rings. It looks poorly constructed, yet it holds tremendous power, even though a lot is leaking. We’ll have to repair that later.”

“Oh, I had no idea…” Elayne murmured.

“Well, you should! I saw you, you just punched that Class Change Stone because you were frustrated, right?” Gardenia asked.

“I was angry that I couldn’t change anything and it always ended up like this,” Elayne sighed. “I’ve been walking a really thorny path ever since I got involved with the other world, but I did it all for the people I grew to love and care for, the bonds that helped me grow as a person and… feel better, overcome my grief. Yet the more I tried to help, the more problems arose, and the more enemies emerged, all trying to harm me…”

“Elayne…” Gardenia said softly, noticing dozens of Undead shambling toward her. Her Sporeborns roared back, tearing them apart. The common Bone Beasts and even the Chimeric Bone Beasts stood little chance now that she had a Bone Behemoth Sporeborn at her side. “I understand how you feel, but did that give you the right to smash that precious crystal and nearly break it?”

“…No,” Elayne admitted with a sigh. “I’m sorry… but come on, the crystal repaired itself… somehow. And… ugh, I saw a lot of strange things when I opened it. Some weird liquid fell all over me.”

“…I didn’t see any liquid,” Gardenia replied. “You saw something like that?”

“Eh? You didn’t?” Elayne asked, surprised.

“No. I saw the crack you made heal quickly while you suddenly fell unconscious for some reason. When you woke up, spores were everywhere,” Gardenia explained with a sigh. “You saw something different?”

“…?!” Elayne gasped, realizing that what she had witnessed might have been visible only to her eyes, or perhaps her soul.

“Anyway, back to the main topic, the reason you can command so many Sporeborns… no idea!” Gardenia said. “I’m fairly sure a low-tier skill like that shouldn’t allow you to control so many. It usually has a limit of five at most. But… what does the skill description say?”

Elayne quickly checked the skill again and noticed something unusual.

[Mycelial Dominion – Tier 1: Level 1/10]: [Spread fungal roots across terrain, corrupting enemies and empowering allies. Corpses that are infected will rapidly become your Living Colonies of Mushrooms, The Sporeborn, who will obey you unconditionally and grow on their own. Limit: 0/?. Empowered allies will receive boosts to their cognitive abilities and a rush of adrenaline; while becoming more agile and stronger for a short period of time, overuse might cause negative side effects.]

“It says limit 0/?,” Elayne read aloud. “Wait, what? And it doesn’t even count the ones I just made…”

“M-Maybe there’s some kind of no-limit glitch, whew,” Gardenia said. “That’s insanely lucky. Maybe you should smash the Class Change Stone every time you Rank Up from now on—those errors ended up benefiting you!”
