Chapter 1821: Battle Between Powerful Ladies

“Where do you think you’re going, my dear?!”
“We’ve got plenty of time left to play!”
“So let’s play, shall we?”
“I looooove to play with cute girls like youuuuu~!”
“W-Wha…?!” Chalk’s eyebrows twitched as hundreds of Bellarine’s twisted, monstrous faces sprouted everywhere at once.
Unlike the refined ghostly bodies of White Ghosts, this Ghost Monster had gone full eldritch horror, becoming an aberrant abomination of countless faces… and hands.
Hundreds of gigantic hands surged toward Chalk, intent on seizing her body and soul, tearing her apart to devour her.
To an Undead like Bellarine, a high-level Ghost, a White Ghost of Chalk’s caliber was a prime delicacy.
If she could consume her, she would grow far stronger and might even evolve. She could not miss this chance to seize even greater power…
Yet at the same time, Bellarine delighted in the horror and disgust twisting across Chalk’s cute face.
“G-Get away from me, you disgusting woman thing!”
Chalk screamed, swinging her two scythes and slicing through the countless hands rushing at her from every direction. She attacked the ghostly walls, only for more soul fragments to detonate using her own technique, bombarding her with explosions from all sides.
“ENOUGH!”
Chalk had reached her limit. Her Domain manifested and spread around her, suddenly twisting and warping space within Bellarine, who could not withstand the pressure and began to shatter.
“W-What is thisssss?! Aaaaaggghhh!”
“Aha! So this actually works!” Chalk smiled viciously as she continued expanding her Domain. She conjured more White Void Soul Weapons and rapidly launched them as projectiles, piercing Bellarine’s soul from every angle while her Domain grew.
“KUAAAAGGGHH!”
Bellarine could not respond to such a bizarre technique! A pocket dimension suddenly spawned inside her soul. There was no way to counter such an absurd move!
And like a balloon, she popped.
BOOOMMM!!!
Chalk emerged from the poisonous purple smoke, feeling her soul slightly weakened by exposure to the soul poison. Unlike other White Ghosts, however, she was mostly immune, or at least highly resistant, and was not severely affected.
“You’re not dead yet, huh?”
Her eyes narrowed as she watched purple ghostly snakes slither from every place where Bellarine’s soul fragments had fallen. They rapidly assembled and fused around a beating black heart, her Nether Core Heart, beginning to reform Bellarine.
“Fufu, that surprised me. You’ve got quite the odd arsenal of abilities, Lady Chalk!” Bellarine laughed. “Let’s see now… I wonder if I can copy that!”
“What?!” Chalk clenched her teeth and rushed forward. “As if I’ll let you do that!”
Her two scythes merged into a gigantic one. She cleaved Bellarine into two, then four, six, ten, twenty, fifty, eighty, one hundred different pieces, detonating each fragment individually.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM…
Yet Bellarine’s fragments absorbed each explosion, growing stronger and more bloated. They fused back together around her core, manifesting a giant spear made of a fake soul dimension and piercing Chalk’s stomach with it.
“Wha…?!”
CRASH!
“Nnnggh…!”
Bellarine smiled viciously, her mouth stretching three times wider than any human’s could, revealing a deep black abyss within.
“Hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHA!”
She laughed as she slowly attempted to swallow Chalk whole.
Chalk vomited blood, the sharp pain in her stomach searing. It was a wound that might even be considered lethal.
However, Chalk was a White Ghost.
FLUOSH!
“Hm?!”
Bellarine’s eyes widened as Chalk vanished and reappeared behind her, transforming into a goddess of white mist and white thunder that crackled from her body.
“You’ve forced my hand!”
Her palms struck Bellarine, sending the entire soul flying away. Bellarine crashed into her own army of undead, generating a massive explosion of poison that infected the surrounding population.
BOOOM!
Bellarine slowly reformed her ghostly body, still feeling the white lightning burning her soul. She tried to copy it as well, only to be burned even more severely. She realized this power had surpassed her level.
She gasped, gazing up at Chalk floating above her. Chalk’s form had changed completely. She now wore a dress of white clouds and white thunder. She had become a young goddess of storms, her long white hair transformed into lightning itself, her eyes gleaming gold.
“W-What sort of power is that?!” Bellarine asked in disbelief. “You White Ghosts can do such things?!”
“Of course, and we can do much more if we choose to!” Chalk roared. “Admire my power, lowly worm! This is an honor for you to gaze upon my White Storm Princess Form! Hahah!”
Chalk laughed as she manifested a pair of enormous swords made of white lightning. She swung them toward Bellarine, who tried to evade swiftly but could not match the speed of lightning itself. Two slashes landed, the damage searing permanently into her soul.
SLAAASH! SLAAASH!
“Gaaaaahhhhh!”
As she screamed, Bellarine twisted her body, transforming into a monstrous hydra. Her many heads coiled around Chalk’s arms and legs as she opened her maws and tried to bite down.
“Nnggh?!”
Yet her sharp fangs shattered with every bite. She could no longer damage Chalk in her current state.
“I’m sorry to break your bubble, but… you’re no match for me now, weakling.”
“Hah?!”
Bellarine screamed in disbelief as Chalk slapped her face, slamming her ghostly form into the ground and spreading countless cracks across it.
“Haaa… Haaa… Unngh…! I’ve been poisoning you this entire time…! H-How come you’re fine?!”
“I told you already! We nobles among nobles do not have weaknesses!”
Chalk roared, kicking Bellarine’s face and driving her heels deep into her eyes. She crushed them, shattering the ghostly head into pieces and tearing away a large chunk of the ghost woman’s soul.
“GYAAAAAHHHH!”
Bellarine exploded into a pillar of ghostly energy, surprising Chalk. The moment she reached her breaking point, something within Bellarine activated, a Soul Treasure she had saved for emergencies. Her ghostly body transformed again, gaining black and red scales everywhere. Her once-ethereal form became fully physical. Enormous, long arms and legs emerged, along with several long necks and sharp, snake-like heads.
Unlike her previous shapeshifting, this felt as though Bellarine had suddenly become an ancient monster from the Netherworld. Chalk felt an immense pressure wash over her entire body. The poison Bellarine now exuded began eating away at her soul essence.
“YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TRANSFORM, LADY CHALK!”
The monstrous Bellarine had become a hydra, an ancient serpentine and draconic Ghost-Nether hybrid beast. Chalk recognized it from the Ancient Beast Books she had once read…
But for such a transformation to be possible, Bellarine would have needed something incredibly valuable!
Chalk noticed a red jewel embedded in Bellarine’s chest. It slowly vanished beneath her scales, glowing with the aura of a Soul Treasure. In that instant, Chalk understood exactly what trick Bellarine had pulled.
