Chapter 289: We’ll take care of you

Seoha’s POV

I had been dreaming a beautiful dream.

I dreamt that I was in Taesan’s arms again and my alpha didn’t look like he was dying. He looked mischievous and full of life.

Someone is talking right outside the room, and their voice pulls me out of the dream.

"We’ll try to take his mind off it as best as we can" the voice from outside says.

"He needs to be checked too, his health is important" someone else says, and I recognize the voice as Yeon’s.

Why am I hearing Yeon’s voice? Where am I?

Confused, I place my hands on my belly and sit up.

I don’t even remember how I ended up in this room or how I fell asleep, but I feel different from yesterday.

My body aches slightly, but my heart feels more free.

I saw Taesan. That was all I needed, and even though the way he looked hurts, I am happy that he’s safe.

"Do you think he’s awake?" the first person who spoke earlier says and he sounds like Hwang Yujun hyung.

"With how loud you two are chattering in front of his door, I am sure he’s wide awake" my grandma says and the door opens.

The old woman comes in with a soft smile on her face.

"My baby, did you sleep well?" she asks.

"Grandma" I whisper and attempt to go to her, but she holds her hands out to stop me.

"Aigoo, don’t get up" she says, coming to my side so she can hug me and sit on the edge of the bed.

"You must be really exhausted" she says, taking my face between her hands and kissing the tip of my nose.

She makes me feel like a loved child.

"I feel okay right now, grandma" I say and she clicks her tongue in disbelief.

"Your face says otherwise. Don’t worry, we are all here to take care of you. You’ll take a warm bath in Yujunnie’s room" grandma says.

"Yujunie?" I ask, feeling jealous that my grandma is calling another person by pet name.

"Yes, we’ve gotten quite close. He has gone to set the bath, does anything hurt?" she asks and I shake my head.

"No," I say and she takes my hands to kiss them.

"You’re doing well, my baby" she whispers and I sniffle. I don’t want to cry anymore, I think I’ve done that a bit too much.

"I have to call Taerin noona" I say when I realize that I haven’t given her an update on my wellbeing.

"Who is that?" grandma asks with concern.

"Taesan’s older sister, she was the one who helped me in coming here" I say and grandma nods.

"Ah...she’s a good person. Here call her" she picks up my phone for me, and I smile at the amount of care I’m receiving.

I search up noona’s name and place a call through to her.

"Hello, noona" I say in a small voice; I feel guilty for the stress and worry I caused with my actions.

"Hello, Seoah. I have been waiting for your call. How are you?" Noona asks, and she sounds extremely tired.

"I’m okay...I saw Taesan" I say to her and she sighs with relief.

"That’s good dear, do you feel better now?" she asks.

"Yes, noona. Thank you for looking after me" I bow my head and my grandma pats my knees in a consoling act.

"You’re my family now, so there’s no need to thank me, okay?" she says and I hum softly in response.

"Yuki and I are making arrangements to come over with Sooin" Taerin says and I hear Yuki’s squeal.

"Thank you, noona" I say with gratitude.

I’m going to have my pup here.

I’ll have my pup and my mate together with me; thank you Moon Goddess.

"Just please, don’t do something thoughtless and reckless again, okay?" Taerin says sternly and I blush with embarrassment.

"Yes, noona" I say and we end the call.

Two knocks on the door get my attention and I turn my head towards the closed door with curiosity.

"I’ll get it" grandma says, getting up with a groan and going to open the door.

She opens it and reveals Yeon standing there in a nurse scrubs.

"Seoha, it’s your bath time" he says and I get up. Once I’m on my feet, I feel lightheaded and lean against the small bedside table.

"Are you okay?" Yeon asks with concern, moving past my grandma and coming to assist me.

"I feel dizzy"

"Did you eat yesterday?" the male omega asks, holding me by my arm.

"No" I bite my bottom lip in guilt.

"You need to take better care of yourself. You are pregnant and both you and the babies need a lot of nutrients" Yeon says in a soft but scolding tone.

"Do better" my grandma adds and I duck my head in shame.

’I’m sorry, my babies. I’ll do better and take care of you’ I apologize to my pups and follow grandma and Yeon out of the room.

We arrive at a white door and Yeon knocks twice.

"Yujunnah, Seoha is here" Yeon calls and Yujun opens the door.

"Good morning" my role model, the first omega clan leader, smiles at me and beckons for me to come in.

"Forgive the mess, my son is teething and his older sister is being a menace" he apologizes and turns around to talk to his daughter. "Haeri, put that spoon down" Yujun says before leading me into the room.

His room looks very homely and normal.

There’s a rocking chair with a stuffed bunny sitting on it. His son, Soobin, is sucking his thumb on the bed. And Haeri, the boisterous first child, is trying to sneak a bite of her baby brother’s cereal.

"Mom, can you help me with them?" Yujun says to Yeon and the older man shrugs.

"Come on" Yujun takes me into the bathroom.

He stays focused and quiet as he runs the bath for me. He fills it with bubbles, checks the temperature, and then he steps aside for me.

"You can get in, it’s warm enough" he says kindly.

"Thank you" I say shyly as I start to undress. But just bending my head forward causes the room to spin and my heart rate to spike.

"Oh" I mutter, reaching for the wall to brace myself.

"Are you okay?" he asks, and unlike what I’ve been saying since I woke up, I say the truth by shaking my head.

I’m not okay.

"I’ll help you undress. You don’t mind, do you?" Yujun hyung asks politely.

"No, it’s okay" I say softly and he helps me to get rid of my clothes.

Holding my hand, he helps me to get into the tub. And when I’m immersed in the water, I feel a wave of exhaustion.

Yujun sits on the toilet lid and watches me closely.

"Can you tell me how you feel?" he asks with his white hair falling over his face and I look at the water instead of looking at him.

I’m feeling weak again.

"I feel so tired and lightheaded" I say to Yujun and he nods at me.

"Yeon mom is making you something to eat. Then after the bath, we’ll have an omega nest" he says.

"Omega nest?" I ask, and Yujun leans forward with a smile.

"Yes, it’s omega biology. After a stressful moment, cuddling with other omegas can help you feel better" Yujun says and I nod.

I guess I really need it. Taesan needs to heal for me, and I have to stay healthy for him.

My bath doesn’t take long.

Yujun hyung helps me with a pretty yellow outfit, and then he leads me back to his room.

"Hyung..." I say with worry when I realize that the room has changed slightly. There are no toys lying around, and the kids are gone.

"Don’t worry. The babies are with my father-in-law" Yujun says and takes me to the bed.

The bed has also been rearranged. There are piles of soft pillows and some clothes that have been lined up.

"These clothes are strictly omega scented ones. My scent, Yeon mom’s scent, and your grandma’s scent are all here" Yujun explains as he gestures to the bed.

This is the first time anyone has ever built a nest for me...

"The nest looks comfortable, thank you for doing this for me" I say with my hands on my chest.

"I told you I was going to adopt you, didn’t I?" he asks and I nod happily.

"I brought delicious food and I made it myself" my grandma announces, coming into the room with Yeon behind her.

I feel like crying again.

Maybe I was named ’River’ because I can cry this much.

"Don’t cry, just eat and let’s cuddle till you feel better" Yeon tsks, reaching out to catch my tear before it drops.

This is precious to me...but who’s with Taesan and making him feel loved too?

"And Taesan? How is he this morning?" I ask.

"No alpha talk, you’ll worry about him later, pup. It’s your time to eat and sleep" grandma says and I nod.

I’ll rest, I’ll eat, sleep and when I wake up, I’ll be with Taesan.
