Chapter 3952 - Assailant
Chapter 3952 - Assailant
The devas were angry enough, but the Skyfiendling's words made them suppress their anger and enter a killing frenzy. Zhan Xiao's eyes were filled with a gray haze. He glared at the Skyfiendling and said, "You're not kidding, right?"
"Haha...." The Skyfiendling immediately retreated back into the group. This was the sign that battle was beginning for ashuras. Being infinite beastmasters, they never participated directly in combat. They were more akin to a group of wildbeasts than conventional beastmasters, and the devas had seen all they needed to know what they were up to.
"Very well!" Zhan Xiao's specter face contorted completely. "Every elite cosmic god from the Ten Desolate Starforges are present at your lord father's hundred-thousand-year celebration, including the seniors from the Ninefold Hellstar. Skyfiendling, you will pay for breaking the rules and ruining the peace of the Eightpart Pantheons!"
Even Yushen An hadn't managed to react to the Skyfiendling's sudden decision, but he had no choice, since they were on the same side. Those fighting words could not be taken back.
"Do it." The Skyfiendling had made up his mind and wouldn't waste any more words. Such was the kind of forceful personality he had. The ashuras were surprised to hear that order, but they had the Skyfiendling to fall back on, so what did they have to fear? They attacked immediately!
Tens of ashuras activated their fiendsky eyes, summoning the warbeasts from within those compound subeyes. With every flash came a terrifying beast. On average, each ashura had more than thirty warbeasts, making a total of more than a thousand and five hundred cosmic godbeasts, all hundreds of meters in size! Right after, the ashuras themselves vanished into the mist. Such was how the strongest war race conducted combat. They were never part of the battle itself, which was also why they enjoyed the lowest casualty rate among all factions. They also had other tag-team tactics with their beasts that only increased their survivability.
No matter how angered the devas were, they could only vent on the wave of beasts ahead of them. They didn't hold back since talk had become out of the question. Most of those devas had not been bullied in this manner before, and it had been truly vexing. They forced their anger down and all transformed into their three-headed, six-armed forms before charging into the midst of the beasts.
The dark cavern suddenly flashed brightly the moment the fight broke out. Streams of cosmoforce filled the space within as thousands of tiny universal bodies clashed into one another. The ashuras, however, were laughing and watching from a safe distance, toying with the devas.
"Hurry up! If we draw more devas to us, we'll lose our edge!" the Skyfiendling ordered.
"Yes!" The rest answered with mischievous looks.
"Send out a bit more to stop them from suddenly swarming us," the Skyfiendling ordered again. Ashuras like them were used to using seventy to eighty percent of their beasts while keeping the rest to protect themselves in case of emergencies. Even with thirty percent of their beasts with them, they would still be in trouble if they ran into devas of the same level and risk being killed in one exchange. They were even more fragile physically compared to primalwingers and totemancers.
The devas and ashuras had always been at each other's throats due to their polar-opposite natures. One side was strong individually, while the other was strong in numbers. Given the nature of the current battlefield, the ashuras had the advantage and could rely on their never-ending waves of beasts to swarm the devas without even showing up to fight themselves.
However, not ensuring their own security would also lead to disaster. As such, they still had to pay attention to their surroundings using cosmic sense as well as have some of their warbeasts on sentry duty, watching for anyone that approached. The ashuras hunted in an incredibly organized manner.
"What's the deal with these insects?"
"No idea...."
Their cosmic senses would pick up some invisible cockroaches from time to time. Even though they couldn't be seen with the naked eye or picked up by tracing rings, their insectoid shape could be felt by cosmic sense. Back then, cosmic sense would kill them without leaving a trace, but Yin Chen had gotten considerably tougher. Still, it lagged behind in the stealth department.
Quite a few devas were soon reduced to cosmic god essence, cursing and roaring to no avail. The Skyfiendling wouldn't leave anything to chance. Yet, right as things were going to wrap up smoothly, a commotion near the ashuras appeared.
"Someone's here!"
"So fast!"
"It's purple!"
The ashuras were spread widely apart and had hidden themselves with some techniques, basically blending in with the cavern walls. Even cosmic gods would have trouble finding them, yet that flash of purple seemed to pinpoint their locations in an instant and struck right away!
"There's an assailant!" cried the ashuras, all stunned. They were just about to completely overwhelm the devas! Would the warbeasts still have homes to return to?
"It's him!" Mo Lian and Mo Xi were also nearby and enjoying the fruits of their victory. Little did they think that the traitor from an orbiter world would appear before them at a time like this.
"He's huge!" The two third-level ashuras felt intense killing intent. The last time they met Tianming, he had only been around two hundred meters in height, yet he had challenged the both of them at once. This time around, he’d doubled in size and stood a whole head taller than the both of them! "Skyfiendling, save us!"
