Chapter 3741 - Playing the Fool
Chapter 3741 - Playing the Fool
When the words reverberated throughout the cultivation room, the door was instantly slammed open. A man clad in golden armor with lush locks of golden hair and two blazing, golden eyes stepped out of the room. The heat wave that came from him struck fear in those around. He stood forty meters tall and towered over the rest. His astrons shook and flowed like golden magma sands.
"Who killed her?!" Luori Guiyang said in a hoarse voice, his eyes gleaming in the dark corridor.
"Listen to these three!" The third-level overflower pointed at the tiny people near their feet that stood less than two meters tall. They were foundationeers from the two cults and friends of Jiang Xuling and Mo Dong. They were Zhong Dan, Chen Xiongyu, and Mo Shen, respectively.
"Speak!" Luori Guiyang said, looking down on them like a god on mortals.
The three foundationeers were terrified and immediately knelt before him. Zhong Dan, a girl, broke into tears and said, "It's Xing Tiancheng and Xing Baiwei, those specters! They ganged up on Sister Yumo and killed her!"
Tears of flame flowed out of Luori Guiyang's eyes. The flames burned around them as he grit his teeth and interrogated them. "Did you personally witness it?"
"Yes! We heard the sound of combat and saw the chaotic melee! The two specters split Sister Yumo away from her goldblitz dragonbat. We were too afraid to get closer and wanted to come back to ask for help, but before we could find anyone, we went back and this was all we could find...."
The three of them handed over the belongings of Luori Yumo—including her long dress, which Luori Guiyang had gifted her. Luori Guiyang held the skirt as his flaming tears fell. "Little Sister!"
How could she still be alive with her belongings scattered in this state?! His cry of grief and rage shook the entire corridor.
"Are the three of you absolutely certain that you saw that with your own eyes?" the third-level overflower asked.
"Brother Jiang! There are so many seniors outside watching us! Why would we dare to lie about something like that?!" Zhong Dan said, horrified and pale.
"At the very least, we saw the fight. We didn't see the exact moment of her death, but I'm worried..." Mo Shen said with much grief.
"I think... I think it must have something to do with Xing Baifeng's death! The specters are a vengeful sort. They have Wargod Haven backing them, so they’re brazen enough to ignore the likes of our Scorchmoon and Blazestar Cults! I don't think they even care about you... Brother Luori..." Chen Xiongyu said with rage and sorrow.
"Brother Luori, please avenge her! All our seniors are watching! Those people from the Wargod Cult might be mocking our seniors as we speak! Waaah!" Zhong Dan sobbed.
"Luori Guiyang! Let's summon all our brothers and sisters! I know which rooms they've taken!" said the third-level overflower.
Luori Guiyang's golden sand-like astrons continued shaking with rage. "I wanted to advance to the fifth level, given this opportunity, but if those people have a death wish, they can't fault us for the result!"
"Alright! I’ll go now!" the third-level overflower said.
"Call Xing Yue, too!" Luori Guiyang said.
"Her?" He coldly smiled. "With her around, those animals will pay a terrible price!"
"That's right! They have to pay for this!" Zhong Dan said, unable to resist a smile with her head held low.
"They have to die!" Chen Xiongyu said.
"Those people are trash!" Mo Shen said.
The show was beginning anew.

The trial had been ongoing for a few years and the hundreds of participants within had grown used to the Cosmic God Palace's layout. It was rather easy to keep track of where everyone was. The thirty-odd members of the Blazestar and Scorchmoon Cults had heard about Luori Yumo's death and were all simmering with rage.
"Where's Xing Yue?" asked the third-level overflower.
"She said she knows where Xing Baiwei is and went there alone to fight," Luori Guiyang coldly said.
"She does have a rather good relationship with Luori Yumo. They were as close as sisters, sigh!" All of them had thought that this would be nothing more than a field trip away from Starmoon Haven. They didn't expect to lose a comrade.
"Did you find the location of Xing Tiancheng yet?" Luori Guiyang asked.
"Yes! He's in a room worth twelve points. It's almost time for him to take a challenge!"
With Yin Chen there, it was all too easy to secretly drop hints to help them find rooms. One of the rules of the cultivation rooms was that one had to accept a challenge from someone outside their faction every five cycles. Otherwise, people like Luori Guiyang could just occupy a room and let someone from his own faction issue a challenge and lose, thus extending his stay there. That said, though, not many dared to exploit the rules within the Heavenly Dao Arena like that.
"Let's go!" Luori Guiyang headed straight for his foe. "Xing Tiancheng, son of Xing Daoshan, the second-in-command of the Wargod Cult... I'm not afraid of you. The only person I'm wary of in the entire Cosmic God Palace is Xing Baizhan alone."
Xing Tiancheng had no idea that danger was approaching. Soon, the group of people reached the cultivation room.
"All of you stand guard out here. Kill any Wargod Cult member that comes," Luori Guiyang said as he put his sister's dress back into his spatial ring. Then he burst into the room and shouted, "Xing Tiancheng, I'm issuing you a challenge!"
Xing Tiancheng's cultivation was forcefully stopped, as a challenge had been issued. He was immediately transported to the arena. The withered youth with a deathly gaze and gray robe shakily stepped forward. He was surprised to see Luori Guiyang. "You.... Don't you already have that room with the galaxy-class order? Why’d you come here to challenge me? Are you alright in the head?"
Xing Tiancheng had already been rather unhappy that the top prize in the Middlekin Star Ruin was being occupied by someone from Starmoon Haven. If it weren’t for Xing Yue and Luori Guiyang, he would have been able to gain insight from a galaxy-class order.
"Playing the fool, are we?" Luori Guiyang was already going berserk the moment he saw him.
