Chapter 599: Chapter 594: What’s the difference between this and a rogue hawk sauce!
Twilight Tomb.
Fifth floor.
The Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger looked at Bai Qi’s five pets in front of him, somewhat surprised.
“How long has it been since we last saw each other, and you’ve improved so fast?”
The Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger remembered clearly. When Bai Qi went to challenge the sixth floor last time, he didn’t even have an Emperor Creature. But now, just a few months later, he already had two pet creatures.
And considering the look of the Husky, it wouldn’t be long before it advanced to the Emperor-class.
“Not bad, quite a bit of time has passed.”
Bai Qi shrugged his shoulders and said, “Senior Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger, I remember you said before that the difficulty of the later levels of the Twilight Tomb is very high. Are they all guarded by legendary creatures?”
“Legendary creatures guarding? Not necessarily, but as you go further, the levels of the undead creatures will increase, and they will become more brutal.”
The Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger shook his head, “The Ice Spirit Jade Rabbit case is an exception. At least within the first five floors, there are only Sixth Stage Emperors.”
The reason why he previously advised Bai Qi to have at least the fighting power of the Sixth Stage to enter the sixth floor was because of this.
And now that all of Bai Qi’s pets were at the Sixth Stage, and he even had two genuine Emperor creatures, there was nothing for him to worry about anymore.
“Nonetheless, I can’t rule out the possibility that some creatures have evolved into legends. It’s better for you to be a bit cautious.”
Hearing the Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger’s words, Bai Qi smacked his lips involuntarily.
It was like he hadn’t said anything at all.
“Well, I’ll continue to explore downwards then, see you later.”
Bai Qi waved at the Flaming-Rock Demonic Tiger and used his charm to directly reach the sixth floor.
Due to the long absence from raiding the tomb, the number of undead in the sixth floor had increased. Sensing the presence of living beings, they all screamed and rushed towards Bai Qi and his companions.
“Where on earth are these undead creatures in the Twilight Tomb coming from, are they truly inexhaustible?”
Bai Qi was somewhat puzzled, Glancing at Gamma, Gamma immediately took the hint. The Judgement Thunder in his hand flashed, and the fine thunderbolts, like a huge net, enveloped all the undead creatures, purifying them into nothingness.
Ka plop ka plop.
(Master, these undead creatures seem to have the aura of evil power on them.)
Gamma held an undead creature in his hand, squeezed it hard, and the undead creature completely shattered. At the same time, a wisp of green aura floated out from the undead ghost and merged into Gamma’s body.
“No wonder the Ice Spirit Jade Rabbit became so irritable. It turns out it was influenced by the evil power.”
Bai Qi nodded slightly upon seeing this, then suddenly thought of something.
“Did the Death Round Table come to the Twilight Tomb because of this evil power? Or is there something else here that attracted them?”
Clack clack?
(Boss, do you think there might be an avatar of Death in the Twilight Tomb?)
“An avatar of Death?”
Upon hearing this, Bai Qi shivered all over. An avatar of Death… that’s a more terrifying existence than the black dragon Akuya.
Suddenly, he didn’t feel like exploring anymore…
Bai Qi smacked his lips, glancing at his pets, none of whom seemed to be frightened by the potential dangers. He silently headed towards the teleportation array leading to the seventh floor.
Following a familiar sense of spinning, Bai Qi and his companions appeared in a whole new world. A stench so intense that it could make one faint assaulted their nostrils.
“Holy Carp, this smell, I bet creatures with sensory attributes would die!”
Bai Qi covered his nose and mouth, his face full of disgust, while Beta next to him rolled his eyes and convulsed on the ground.
Aw woof aw woof…
(I feel like I’ve just seen my granny…)
“This stupid dog, to be completely unaware of such a dangerous place, totally incompetent!”
Bai Qi somewhat disgustedly gave Beta a swift kick, and seeing no intention of him getting up, he could only start observing his surroundings.
Compared to the previous icy world, this seventh floor was extremely filthy. Almost every inch of land was covered with some unidentified substance, and the air was filled with the smell of decay.
In some parts obscured by murky air, one could barely hear some kind of growling.
Blub blub.
(Master, there are many zombies around us.)
Delta opened a spatial passage in front of Bai Qi. Through it, one could vaguely see groups of zombies slowly moving towards them.
“After undead and skeletons, it’s finally time for the zombies.”
Bai Qi wasn’t surprised at the sight. The Twilight Tomb was left behind by a Witch Ghoul who didn’t care about the appearance or smell of zombies like humans did. What mattered was that they could fight.
Roar!!!
At that moment, the zombies finally noticed the presence of Bai Qi and others, roared, and charged towards Bai Qi.
The ones placed on the seventh floor wouldn’t be those lowly servants. At the forefront were some elite zombies.
These zombies still didn’t have much intelligence, but their movements were much more agile than ordinary servants. Even their charging speed was comparable to the beast tide.
Behind these elite zombies were a large number of lord-level zombies. Bai Qi even saw quite a few Three Corpse Ghost Beasts in there.
“So many materials, why did they all have to become zombies?”
Bai Qi felt some heartache upon seeing this. The reason that corpses were so despised by humans, aside from their abhorrent appearances, was mainly due to another factor.
No matter how powerful or valuable the materials in their bodies were, should they turn into living corpses, all their worth would immediately be voided, to the point where even their souls were scorned.
In simple terms, trying to find useful materials from living corpses was not any easier than progressing to the World Cup.
“Beast Master, allow me to test my new technique.”
Upon spotting the approaching living corpses, Schuck took control of the body, with platinum armor covering its whole body. As if by second nature, the Twelve Zodiac Symbols flew out from Schuck, transforming into zodiac beasts.
Instantaneously, twelve vastly different zodiac beasts plunged into the crowd of corpses, commencing one-sided massacre.
Agile with knife-like claws was the Zodiac Mouse.
Invincibly strong was the Zodiac Cow.
Attack devastating, momentum overwhelming was the Zodiac Tiger.
Light body with an overflow of cold air was the Zodiac Rabbit.
A streak of silver light, unhindered entry and exit was the Zodiac Dragon.
Sly, treacherous and ghost-like movements were of the Zodiac Snake.
Fast as lightning, its steps thumping like thunder was the Zodiac Horse.
Stepping on shadows, its horns toppling the wicked was the Zodiac Goat.
Strong as diamond, its claws steeped in fierce poison was the Zodiac Monkey.
Its wings recalling the morning sun, its calls sounding like thunder was the Zodiac Chicken.
Well-balanced in attack and defense, its attack leaving the earth shattered was the Zodiac Dog.
Greed without limit, a mud pool accompanying it everywhere was the Zodiac Pig.
Each of the Zodiac Beasts inherited the abilities of their original bodies. With the support of machinery and runes, their combat power was no weaker than the creatures before them.
“These Twelve Zodiac Guardian Beasts are stronger than I had expected. Alpha, do you think the Seven Swords Dragon Knights are their match?”
Click-clack click-clack.
(I’m not sure; only a competition would prove that.)
Alpha shook his head and gave no response, instead silently summoning the Seven Swords Dragon Knights to join the battle.
Compared to the Twelve Zodiac Guardian Beasts, the Seven Swords Dragon Knights were timelier in the pace of clearing out, and even managed to finish faster.
“Although my zodiac beasts have reproduced the abilities of the original creatures to the maximum extent, we still cannot recreate their force field and area of effect. They’re still a bit lacking compared to the Seven Swords Dragon Knights.”
Schuck admitted readily to the shortcomings of the zodiac beasts, but soon after he issued a new command, and the twelve zodiac beasts suddenly shook, each unleashing electromagnetic fields of different attributes.
“You say one thing, but your actions tell another story~”
Bai Qi could not help but chuckle. For mechanical creatures, force fields and area of effect required a particular device, which Schuck had clearly incorporated onto the guardian beasts.
He really planned on creating zodiac beasts that could go head-to-head with their respective originals.
“The two of you are really amazing. I wonder when my parasitic beasts will be just as powerful.”
Insect Grass, envious, watched the guardian beasts and the Seven Swords Dragon Knights slaying from a distance, thought about his parasitic beasts – who only knew how to use brute force – and decided against summoning them.
The living corpses had toxins. Once invaded by them, it was highly likely to be turned into a living corpse as well. Summoning them would merely be sending them to the chopping board, so it would be better not to.
“Don’t worry about it. After all, Epsilon, your main abilities lie in The Power of the Great Sun and the Dream Power. As long as you are strong enough, there’s no need to worry about your parasitic abilities.”
Upon seeing Insect Grass’s envious look, Bai Qi immediately comforted him. “Once your Dream Power becomes strong enough to perform on-site hypnosis, the effect will be the same.”
“Yes, yes, thank you for your encouragement, boss. I will try my best.”
Insect Grass nodded vigorously, but as he watched the Seven Swords Dragon Knights and the Twelve Zodiac Guardian Beasts, enviousness filled his eyes.
If only he could freely modify his parasitic beasts like them.
The Seven Swords Dragon Knights and the Twelve Zodiac Guardian Beasts easily held back the rush of corpses. Any corpse lower in rank than a king could not even get near, directly getting grinded to death.
But gradually, there were several Three Corpse Ghost Beasts braving the attacks mounted by Bai Qi’s side, drawing nearer to them.
Click-clack click-clack?
(Boss, should I make a move?)
“No rush, this is a good opportunity to test out another one of Schuck’s abilities.”
Bai Qi looked at Schuck. “Schuck, let’s give the War Lord a shot.”
“Alright.”
Schuck nodded, a stream of platinum electricity flashing through his eyes. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a massive missile launcher.
In the center of the launcher, a missile stood ready to fire.
Boom!
Accompanied by a booming sound, the missile was launched into the sky. When it quickly reached its vantage point, it broke apart like a firework, splitting into countless small missiles that fell all around.
For a moment, bombs resounded, and the living corpses that were about to surround them were instantly drowned in a sea of flames.
“Even though I knew it was large-scale war machinery, why did it turn out to be a missile?”
Bai Qi clicked his tongue. “This lack of technicality in combat, what’s the difference between this and a thug like Hawk?”
