Chapter 596 - Chapter 596: Chapter 591: Element Altar
Chapter 596: Chapter 591: Element Altar
As soon as the triangular area formed, the element energy in the surrounding space immediately increased in intensity, causing Taize Lake to tremble violently.
However, the trembling quickly stopped, and the three half-gods withdrew their energy, looking towards Bai Qi.
“Mr. Bai Qi, may we construct an Element Altar here?”
A slight upturn manifested at the corner of Bai Qi’s mouth upon hearing this. Although he wasn’t sure what an Element Altar was, given the fact that the three of them had already begun working, it seemed pointless to ask for his permission at this juncture.
“May I ask first, what is an Element Altar?”
The Water Spirit smiled and said, “It’s been many years since an Element Altar has appeared, it’s quite usual that you wouldn’t know.”
“Many years ago, when the Elemental World still existed, Element Altars allowed us to communicate with the outside world, allowing humans to summon us.”
The Water Spirit paused, then continued to explain, “Although Element Gates can also perform summonings, they are too troublesome and offer only a single attribute. With an Element Altar, we can simultaneously summon our tribesmen from the three major Elemental Realms.”
After hearing the Water Spirit’s explanation, Bai Qi understood. In simple terms, they were trying to merge three pools into one.
“We of the Water and Fire Elemental Realms have recently birthed many tribesmen who are still very weak. If possible, we hope they can enter numerous pacts with humanity to accelerate their growth.”
“Of course, our Elemental World will shoulder the costs of the materials needed to nurture these newborn tribesmen. All you need to do is provide the contract slots.”
The Water Spirit looked at Bai Qi, “This may be a bit of a stretch for you, Mr. Bai Qi, but we, the Elemental World, are willing to offer a corresponding price.”
With a wave of her hand, a pile of water attribute materials appeared before Bai Qi.
“These materials are from our Water Element World, consider them a thank you for helping us connect with human Beast Masters.”
“It’s not a stretch at all. Not in the least.”
Upon hearing these words, Bai Qi shook his head. It was clear that the Water Spirit was indeed quite anxious about the growth of her tribespeople, willing to pay such a high price to enhance their strength.
Supplying contract creatures and taking care of the nurturing materials; with such conscientious services, it seems that the Elemental World was perhaps the only one doing this in modern times.
“Our intention is the same.”
The Flame Demon and Rock Puppet exchanged a glance and also released a pile of materials, demonstrating their resolve.
“So, are you planning to form an alliance with humanity?”
Observing the actions of the three half-gods, Zhang Shan stepped forward to ask.
“Indeed. Though we have a good relationship with Mr. Bai Qi, that’s a personal matter. If possible, we hope to establish a long-term cooperation with humans.”
The Water Spirit paused and added, “This is also the sentiment across the entire Elemental World.”
The entire Elemental World? They must be referring to the collective consciousness of the Elemental World.
Bai Qi nodded slightly, just about to accept the proposal when Zhang Shan stopped him.
“May I ask, why are you so eager to enhance the strength of your tribesmen?”
Zhang Shan’s eyes were fixated on the Water Spirit, not at all intimidated by her status as a half-god.
His question resonated with Bai Qi.
Transcendent creatures bound in a contract with human Beast Masters would grow much more quickly than those that remained uncontracted.
However, elemental creatures are somewhat different; they could grow quite rapidly even without a contract, provided they had sufficient resources.
Yet, the Water Spirit and others appeared to be in a hurry.
Not to mention, the Rock Puppet had only just settled down, and yet he seemed to have already reached an agreement with the Flame Demon and the Water Spirit?)
Seeing the two of them puzzled, the Water Spirit revealed an expression of helplessness and said, “We’re merely conveying the directives of the World Will. We’re not clear either on the specifics.”
“However, there is one thing we can tell you.”
“A disaster is coming.”
“Disaster?”
Bai Qi and Zhang Shan exchanged a glance. They wanted to ask more, but the three half-gods kept their mouths shut, unwilling to share any further information.
“Teacher Zhang, should I agree?”
Scratching his head, Bai Qi turned to Zhang Shan for advice.
“You are now the president of the Gusu City Association, and can make your own decisions regarding matters within Gusu City. As for anything else, I’ll need to contact the headquarters.”
Zhang Shan looked at Bai Qi, paused, then said, “From a personal perspective, I’m in favor of the cooperation.”
“I see.”
Bai Qi nodded, understanding. He then turned to the three half-gods and said, “I, on behalf of Gusu City, agree to a partnership with the Elemental World.”
“Thank you.”
The Water Spirit slightly nodded her head. She then tore off a piece of her own arm and tossed it into the center of the triangular area. The Flame Demon and Rock Puppet followed suit, throwing their own arms into the area.
Then, under the astonished gaze of Bai Qi and Zhang Shan, the three arms began to slowly merge together, eventually turning into a red, blue, and yellow altar.
“The Element Altar has been successfully constructed. Mr. Bai Qi needs only to bring appropriate humans to this altar, and it will automatically select suitable elemental creatures for them.”
The Water Spirit chuckled, “Of course, this only applies to our three Elemental Realms. Mr. Bai Qi, if you can locate the Wind Elemental Realm and have them join us, this altar will then be able to summon all elemental creatures.”
Bai Qi nodded, but was still immersed in his thoughts about the Water Spirit’s words.
Disaster?
Things that even the consciousness of the Elemental World termed a disaster, could not be simple to imagine.
Could it be the tribes?
Or perhaps, those demons?
Or maybe something else….
The more Bai Qi thought about it, the more agitated he became. He decided to set aside these thoughts for now. After confirming the usage method of the Element Altar with the three demi-gods, he gathered the materials scattered around him and left the underwater base at Taize Lake.
Taize Lake.
Probably influenced by the Element Altar, Taize Lake, which was usually frozen year-round, had begun to thaw slowly. Bai Qi could even feel the faint stirrings of life slowly taking form.
Earth was the source of all creations. Combined with the balance of water and fire, the vast lake finally began to regain its vitality.
“The Spirit Master Legion isn’t dealt with yet, and now there’s going to be an Element Division too,”
Bai Qi glanced at the lake beneath his feet, presenting a somewhat retrospective expression, but he was interrupted by the violent vibration of his phone.
“President Qin? Oh, crap, I completely forgot about the meeting with the President!”
…
Gusu City Association.
Bai Qi gazed at President Qin, whose veins were practically popping from his forehead with a wide grin on his face, and said, “President, it’s not that I’m purposefully skipping on you. The Earth Element Door just made a big mess.”
“Don’t call me president; you’re the president now, it’s got nothing to do with me.”
President Qin glared at Bai Qi and said, “I’m really beginning to regret my decision to support your appointment as president.”
“Really? If that’s the case, why don’t you make an appeal to the Headquarters to withdraw your support?”
Upon hearing this, Bai Qi’s eyes sparkled.
After all, he had already utilized his authority as president to purchase a substantial amount of resources. Combined with the supplies provided by the Three Elemental Realm, it was enough for him to splash out for some time. He could live without being the president!
“Do you think this is child’s play? You can’t just be president whenever you feel like it.”
President Qin glared at Bai Qi and gestured towards the pile of documents on his desk, saying, “I’ve sorted all these files for you here that need urgent responses. You should get to processing them asap.”
Upon hearing this, Bai Qi looked at the files piled up like two small mountains and his eyelid twitched.
When they said he only needed to pay attention and that would be it, they didn’t mention the part about him becoming a full-fledged paper-pusher!
“Cough, cough…President, there’s a major issue I need to discuss with you.”
Bai Qi cleared his throat and informed President Qin about the Element Altar.
“Element altar…long-term cooperation…”
“But what exactly are these disasters they mentioned?”
Bai Qi shrugged and said, “I’m not clear about that. The three demi-gods didn’t tell me, but I think it’s not a bad deal for humans, so I agreed.”
President Qin stroked his chin and said, “Collaboration with the Elemental World is indeed a good choice for the Federation. At this moment, we are in great need of the combat power of elemental creatures.”
“However, you’ve become more and more adept at sparking chaos. You haven’t settled the Spirit Master Legion yet, and now you’ve got the Element Altar. Add to that your Super God Evolution Research Institute, you’re on the verge of monopolizing the Beast Master system of Gusu City.”
“Well, that seems to be the case.”
Bai Qi scratched his head. Because of Alpha and Husky, the Undead Department and Ice Wolf species pets were very popular. This was followed by a bunch of Armament Evolution and Spirit series.
Now he had added an Element series to his portfolio. As President Qin said, Bai Qi had nearly monopolized the Beast Master system of Gusu City.
“Well, it’s a good thing in the sense that the stronger the Beast Masters in Gusu City, the better it is for us.”
President Qin paused and continued, “I’ve arranged accommodations for the Spirit Masters who came with you. You can take charge when you return.”
“As for the Element Altar, I will immediately summon a group of suitable Beast Masters. You just need to bring them for the contract.”
“We can’t manage a big project like the Element Altar with just the Gusu City Association. It would be best to have the headquarters send people over as soon as possible.”
“And then there’s the military…”
Watching President Qin with a serious face, pondering over the arrangements for the Element Altar, Bai Qi quietly moved towards the door. By the time President Qin realized what was happening, Bai Qi had already opened the door and bolted out.
“Anyway, President, you continue thinking. I’m going home first.”
Too many things were going on. Just hearing about it made him feel a headache coming. He didn’t want to be stuck in here, better to escape first.
“Damn it, that kid is so quick!”
Upon seeing this, President Qin couldn’t help but curse. He shook his head, picked up a file from the table, and it was none other than the appointment letter that nominated Bai Qi as the leader of the Beast Master Association’s Spirit Master Legion.
The order was given to him by the members of the headquarters who came along, and it was only then that President Qin understood the real intention of the headquarters.
The appointment of Bai Qi as president was a mere pretext. The real game was his nomination as the leader of the Legion.
Although the association was now attached to the federation, it had been an ancient organization for over a thousand years and naturally had its own armed forces.
To command these forces, one should be at least at the level of a division president.
The headquarters were making such a fuss to appoint Bai Qi as president, precisely to allow Bai Qi to accept this nomination as the leader of the Legion suitably.
“Looks like I can’t retire yet…”
