Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1588 Ugly*

Chapter 1588  Ugly*

Life in Eldoralth passed by swiftly, and though Atticus devoted much of his time to training, he never stopped keeping track of everything happening within his world. After the Eldorian stunt, he had warned Oberon never to allow such plots to occur again, a warning Oberon had received with an immediate bow and a profuse apology, followed by a detailed explanation of how things had spiraled in the first place.

As it turned out, the root of the issue lay in the recent arrival of the resistance members. Unlike the Eldorians, the resistance had mastered will to a level the Eldorians had yet to reach. While the Eldorians were absolute in their path of mana, aside from Magnus, they fell noticeably short when it came to wielding will, and that disparity made the resistance members overall stronger.

With Atticus having lost consciousness, authority had naturally split into two groups, the resistance members who followed Anorah, and those who looked to Ozeroth to lead them. And while Anorah and Ozeroth themselves worked together without any hint of rivalry, the same could not be said for the others.

The resistance members, being the more powerful of the two groups, had instinctively assumed command of most affairs, expecting the Eldorians to follow their words without question. The Eldorians, who were long accustomed to ruling the world’s affairs, had of course refused. Though Anorah and Ozeroth stepped in before anything concrete could occur, the damage had already been done, and friction between the two groups had firmly taken root.

The Eldorians feared that with the figure of stronger beings, their role would soon be diminished or taken entirely. Their actions during the meeting had been a desperate attempt to cling to Atticus and prevent such a future from coming to pass.

By the time Oberon finished explaining, Atticus could only shake his head. Their enemies were numerous and powerful, so much so that even he could not see their future clearly, yet all they seemed to care about was preserving their own hollow authority.

He maintained his earlier order regardless, issuing a final warning before moving on with his day.

After that night, Anorah returned to her usual self, as though her breakdown had never occurred. She even went as far as apologizing to him for putting him through it, an interaction Atticus found profoundly awkward.

It was also then that he learned the truth behind her and Ozerra’s presence on Eldoralth. Apparently, it had been the Great Verge’s ‘gift.’

After Atticus fell unconscious, the Great Verge had organized a small challenge between Atticus, Anorah, Ozerra and the other resistance gods. The challenge had ended in the latter’s loss, though the conditions of the clash had been changed, ending not in death, but in the subordination of the loser. The outcome had fused their worlds, making Atticus their god while still allowing them to retain their own godhood.

Now, they shared in Eldoralth’s growth. Though they could never approach Atticus’s level of power, any increase in the territory would still strengthen them as well.

Aside from all this, Atticus spent his time purely on training, splitting it between the katana realm and off world sessions. His off world training, however, consisted less of refinement and more of enduring the Arbiter’s incessant and irritating orders. She showed no hesitation in making his life a living hell.

With the burden on his mind finally lifted, Atticus began to notice that his control over molecules had increased astronomically. He could now sense them stretching nearly a kilometer from his position, and even farther when he was actively bonded with the exo suit.

Though he remained limited to issuing direct and relatively simple commands, he found it oddly reassuring to discover that expanding his control was far simpler than he had initially believed.

As it turned out, his elemental authority was, in one way or another, deeply tied to his will. This explained why it had only awakened once his will reached the threshold required to ascend to the Span.

The stronger his will became, the more absolute his control over the molecules grew. It influenced not only the area they covered, but also the precision and complexity of the commands he could impose upon them.

At present, counting the Abyss god he had just killed, Atticus had accumulated roughly forty million minor worlds.

Fifty minor worlds formed one major world. One hundred major worlds formed one grand world. One hundred and fifty grand worlds formed a single dominion world.

With one dominion world being equivalent to seven hundred and fifty thousand minor worlds, that left him with fifty three dominion rank worlds under his control. It seemed like a small number on the surface, yet was astronomical in sheer scale.

Eventually, after a long day of training, Atticus decided to finally check his status. Moments later, he calmly accessed the panel hovering before him.

‘So this is the infamous screen. Hm. Ugly.’

Atticus frowned at the Arbiter’s sudden comment, partly because of the disdain laced into her voice, and the other…

‘You can see it?’

‘Obviously. What kind of master wouldn’t know everything about her student?’

‘You’re not my master.’

‘Mm.’ There was an amused pause. ‘And yet here you are, listening to me. I do wonder when you’ll finally stop clinging to denial. It’s an ugly habit for a warrior.’

‘…Putting that aside. You don’t like the system?’

‘Tch. A real warrior knows his strength without having a machine spell it out for him. Depending on something like this is… inelegant.’

‘Well… this inelegant machine happens to be perfectly accurate.’

The woman let out a sigh.

‘Why must you insist on embarrassing me at every opportunity? Do you have any idea what people would say if they found out you were my student?’

‘Who is she..?’

‘…’

Atticus felt her burning stare settle on him and quickly shifted his focus back to the panel before him. The system hadn’t disappointed and had accurately reflected his full power.

‘Archduke…’
