Chapter 1247: Samadhi Prajna
On a land of pitch-black darkness, a battle had erupted.
Crimson waves of energy erupted all over the place, bringing life after life closer to death, to glory, to explosion.
In the air, countless Void Shuttles flew back and forth.
This was the signature treasure of the Rosecloud cultivators. Their incredible speed, impressive defenses, and formidable formation tactics that surpassed even those of cultivator joint formations allowed the Rosecloud cultivators to display combat strength far above their actual cultivation levels.
But the Primordial Fog demons were also putting up a strong front.
Their silhouettes blotted out the skies and covered the earth as they endlessly rushed in.
There were mountain-sized demons, bloodsucking black-horned bat demons, and also plenty of various kinds of bone demons charging at the front. Bellowing, they swung their thick arms and unleashed waves of fire at the sky. The black flames trailed long plumes of smoke that radiated destructive energy, clashing with the red beams from the Void Shuttles.
Wang Juemie stood in the clouds, observing the battle down below.
Though it was a fierce battle, on the campaign scale, it was a mere skirmish.
Since that successful “landing” three months ago at the Trimountain Plateau, there were skirmishes like this every few days.
In these three months, the cultivators of Rosecloud had successfully established a city.
This city was made entirely through spell arts and Divine Connections, made from forty-some kinds of rare materials like Eternity Metal and Skypatch Stone, all of it covered in formations, making it an enormous treasure. It floated in the sky, and above it was a massive platform that could hold several hundred thousand Void Shuttles. Meanwhile, the walls below were fitted with tens of thousands of the cannons used on the shuttle, so densely packed that the city seemed like a hedgehog.
Around the city were 108 thick chains, one end linked to the city and the other burrowed into the earth.
These chains were not used to anchor the city, but to transfer energy. Power was being pulled right from the spirit veins to ensure the operation of the city.
This city was called Army Anchor City.
In the center of the city was a massive metal pillar that rose into the clouds.
The pillar passed straight through the Astral Wind region, beyond which one could see another massive domain that floated above the Gigantes Domain—the Rosecloud Domain. The pillar pointed at the Rosecloud Domain, its tip opposite Rosecloud Domain’s highest point—Starsnatch Pagoda.
As the two tips aimed at each other, on another plane, one would be able to see waves going back and forth between them.
What was being transferred was the power of the Eight Ocean Mountains and the demonic energy that it sought to digest.
The Void Shuttles were a tactical boost for the Rosecloud cultivators, while the Eight Ocean Mountains was a massive strategic boost. Converting the demonic energy that everyone feared into a cultivation resource meant that a domain had infinite potential, that the Rosecloud Domain could get stronger through constant battle.
In such circumstances, the Rosecloud cultivators had no fear of fighting the demons, even desiring it, just like when they were students hunting fiends to temper themselves.
The demon battlefield was simply a larger fiend battlefield.
The skirmishes on the front line continued, but no figures of any real weight appeared. The vast majority of them were clashes of lesser soldiers. And in this aspect, the experienced Rosecloud cultivators with their Void Shuttles and expertise in combination tactics had the clear upper hand.
Wang Juemie didn’t see any threats and felt extremely bored, grumbling, “What is that baldy Nine Disaster up to, still not showing himself?”
“I would rather hope that he never shows up. When that sort of existence makes a move, neither of us will be able to hold him off,” Liu Qiansheng said.
Liu Qiangsheng was a genius disciple of the Seven Absolutions Sect who had come after Wang Juemie, and he had recently ascended to Immortal Platform.
“So what? As a cultivator, I have never feared battle,” Wang Juemie declared, clenching his fist.
Liu Qiansheng rolled his eyes. “Madman.”
He didn’t walk the path of strength like Wang Juemie, and he lacked that fearless demeanor that was willing to take on all enemies. He was more like Tang Jie in that he liked planning first and then acting, so his idol was Tang Jie.
As they were talking, there was a clap of thunder.
Looking up, they saw a dark cloud roiling in the sky. A vicious face had appeared on it, grinning at Army Anchor City, revealing its black hole of a mouth.
The face laughed, “Rat humans, you really think you can stop my Primordial Fog? Hurry up and die already!”
With these words, an enormous hand appeared in the distance, engulfing a vast area.
“A True Immortal,” Liu Qiansheng said.
A True Immortal had finally appeared among the ranks of the Primordial Fog demons.
Wang Juemie raised an eyebrow. “True Immortal, eh? Perfect for a fight!”
He strode out.
With this step, he revealed his true form, as large as a mountain. Streams of energy flowed around him, so dense as to have physical form.
Wang Juemie was utterly unafraid of this Archdemon Lord’s giant hand, bellowing as he threw out a punch.
Punch clashed with palm, sending a tremendous shockwave into the surroundings, and as it passed over Army Anchor City, its barrier pulsed with waves of light.
Wang Juemie was thrown back several thousand feet.
But while he was pushed back far, considering that his true form was ten thousand feet tall, it was really only a few steps.
Wang Juemie was so powerful that even a True-Immortal-level Archdemon Lord could only push him back a few steps.
As for that Archdemon Lord’s giant hand that had been formed from demonic energy, it had been utterly destroyed.
“Raaaa!” The Archdemon Lord was furious.
Having an Earth Immortal stop his attack was humiliating for him.
Demonic flames converged into another giant hand, and a voice rumbled, “Ebon Demon Hand, execute!”
With the word “execute”, the light suddenly drained out of the world, and time seemed to stop. The only thing that was moving was that demonic hand, which slowly approached Wang Juemie. Any living thing in its path was turned to dust, even demons. The Void Shuttles were also affected, clattering as the corrosion of demonic energy stripped their formations of energy and caused them to fall from the sky.
Wang Juemie simply laughed. “What Ebon Demon Hand? I’ll break it all the same way!”
He threw out another punch, the blast sending pulses of energy outward as it traveled through the air, pushing away that demonic energy.
Fist and palm clashed again, and while Wang Juemie was again pushed back, the demonic hand was also destroyed.
“Bastard!” The Archdemon Lord clearly hadn’t expected this foe to be so troublesome.
Wang Juemie instantly flew back into the fray. “Have a taste of mine! Horn Dragon Demon Body! Only I Am the Truth!”
His body instantly grew to thirty thousand feet, reaching all the way into the clouds, and he punched at the distant cloud. The punch entered the cloud, but its power penetrated through the cloud and headed toward that Archdemon Lord farther back in the rear.
“Awoooo!” A cry of pain came from the distance.
A hit!
Wang Juemie drew back his fist, which was now splattered with dripping black blood. A black rain descended upon the world, causing all plants to wither and even the rocks and soil to hiss.
“Seeking death!” A furious roar resounded, growing louder with every syllable, signaling that the Archdemon Lord was rapidly nearing.
The dark cloud dispersed, and the Archdemon Lord’s massive form was slowly revealed.
It was a bald monk wearing a necklace of prayer beads fashioned from skulls, each of the skulls spewing out black smoke.
Liu Qiansheng saw this and recalled something. “Watch out! It’s Evil Monk Samadhi Prajna!”
Samadhi Prajna was also an infamous Demon Lord of the Primordial Fog Domain. A native of the Western Heaven Buddha Kingdom, he had been traveling the cosmos nine thousand years ago when he became a demon during the Primordial Fog Calamity, and not long later, he became the Nine Disaster Fiend Monk’s subordinate.
This wasn’t a surprise. Birds of a feather flocked together, and in the various Demon Regions, the overlord would generally have more subordinates of the same kind as it.
Nox Alba was a world of fiend devils, and the vast majority of demons that lived there were demonized fiends. Libido’s Demon Region, meanwhile, was a world of native demons. As for Nine Disaster, his demon region was mostly home to demonized humans.
Samadhi Prajna was famous for eating humans and fashioning the bones of the strong foes he killed into treasures that he wore. This was a privilege reserved only for those at Immortal Platform.
He currently had 19 skulls, meaning that he had killed 19 Immortal Platform cultivators. One could tell with one look at those skulls that they were in immense pain. The Divine Souls of the slain Titans had not perished but were imprisoned in the skulls to be forever tormented by demonic flames.
The monk laughed, “Since you know who I am, hurry up and surrender. I promise I’ll leave your corpse intact.”
What came in response was Wang Juemie’s fist, smashing into his face so hard that his round face caved in.
A moment later, Samadhi Prajna restored his form and savagely glared at Wang Juemie. “Seeking death! A stubborn soul like you will serve well as my 20th skull!”
He threw out the necklace of skull prayer beads, which began to shriek as it rotated in the air, the sound shaking the soul.
A Divine Soul attack!
Not only that, the prayer beads exuded a corrosive energy as they flew toward Wang Juemie.
The Dao of Destruction!
At the same time, Samadhi Prajna thrust out a finger that was thick with death energy. This was a demonic art created specifically to penetrate through barriers, the Oblivion Demon Finger.
A Divine Soul attack, a Destruction Dao Art, and the Oblivion Demon Finger! This lethal combination instantly put Wang Juemie in dire peril!
