Chapter 1225: Meteorville (3)
At the end of the road, a domineering figure was walking over.
This demon was around four meters tall, walking like a human on two thick legs, dragging a long tail behind him that swung back and forth on the ground. He was extremely muscular, his bare upper body rippling with strength, his scarlet skin seemingly emitting flames.
Two bull-like horns grew out of the top of his head, crackling with lightning.
This was Furyhorn, the mayor of this town.
Stopping not far from Tang Xuanyu, he folded his arms and said, “Brat, you’re very bold. But since you broke my rule, you have to be ready to take the flames of my wrath.”
“‘Broke your rule’?” Tang Xuanyu laughed. He looked around and said, “I don’t see how I broke your rule.”
“You tried to kill a demon. Is this not breaking my rule?”
“You mean that greenskinned Armor Demon that didn’t know his own strength?” Tang Xuanyu scoffed. “He didn’t die.”
“Is that so?” Furyhorn chuckled.
Tang Xuanyu was taken aback as Furyhorn threw out the corpse of that Plague Armor Demon.
Tang Xuanyu frowned. “I didn’t kill him.”
Although he had punched a hole in the Plague Armor Demon, the true fatal wound was that red spot in the center of his forehead. A power had shot through there and turned the demon’s brain into paste.
Furyhorn replied, “Is that so? I saw that you were fighting with him and heavily wounded him. And then this guy only made it a few steps before dying.”
Tang Xuanyu understood. “You’re framing me?”
“‘Framing you’?” Furyhorn cocked his head and laughed. “An interesting way of putting it. You should consider yourself fortunate, because most of the time, I don’t need to frame anybody if I want to kill them… In this place, my word is the law!”
Tang Xuanyu nodded. “No wonder your attempts to find trouble are so crude.”
For Furyhorn, creating an excuse to deal with any particular person was already a great courtesy, so one couldn’t hope for much when it came to the quality of the excuse.
Furyhorn chuckled. “Being able to defeat a Plague Armor Demon means you’re definitely no ordinary Goldbone. If my guess is correct, you must have had some lucky encounter. If you hand it over, along with that Rainbow Flowmetal, I can spare your life.”
“So that’s what you’re after!”
Furyhorn was a demon that had advanced through a freak accident, so the best way of advancing more was finding another lucky encounter. Tang Xuanyu’s performance was clearly different from that of other Goldbones, so Furyhorn judged that he might have been through something similar.
This lucky encounter might have already disappeared, or he might even prefer death over telling the secret, but Furyhorn wouldn’t give up so long as even the tiniest shred of hope existed.
Thus, he came and killed the Plague Armor Demon, breaking his own rule to frame Tang Xuanyu, all for that shred of hope!
Furyhorn heartily laughed. “If you don’t want to tell me, I’ll pound you until you do!”
He unleashed a fist of wind and lightning at Tang Xuanyu.
This fist was also imbued with an intense flame. Ifrits were experts at controlling fire, and he had also used a powerful flame fist art, the Wrathflame Comet!
As the Wrathflame Comet Punch hurtled toward him, Tang Xuanyu smirked.
He muttered, “We were looking for an excuse to cause a massacre anyway, and this reason is an even better one.”
The two weren’t far from each other, and the Wrathflame Comet moved as quickly as lightning.
Yet even as Tang Xuanyu reached the end of his sentence, the fist had yet to reach his face.
The blazing fist charged along as if it was on a road with no end.
They were just meters apart, yet it seemed like an entire world was between them.
Furyhorn was in disbelief, but before he could understand, Tang Xuanyu made his move.
He attacked.
A golden arm stretched out, slamming into Furyhorn’s face.
Tang Xuanyu was a Soul Projection cultivator while Furyhorn was only a high-rank devil, essentially at Infant Tending. The difference of two tiers was as vast as between heaven and earth.
While Tang Xuanyu had held back to keep up the act, this fist was still enough to shatter Furyhorn’s cheekbones and deform his face.
“Awwoooo!” Furyhorn howled in pain.
The horns on his head lit up with lightning while his body erupted in flames.
Lightning and flame began to mix together into a terrifying combination.
Even Tang Xuanyu felt a tinge of danger, which meant that the coming attack was capable of damaging him, on par with the full-strength attack of a Deification cultivator.
Tang Xuanyu chuckled. “Not bad. This is getting fun.”
Boom!
The lightning and fire transformed into a spear that stabbed at Tang Xuanyu.
Normally, Tang Xuanyu would have countless ways of dealing with this lightning fire spear, but he was a Goldbone right now, so he had to fight like a Goldbone—at least on the surface.
Thus, Tang Xuanyu could only use one method.
Take it head-on!
He charged at the domineering spear rather than backing away.
He stomped forward and roared, throwing a punch at the spear.
His golden bones emerged from his body, transforming into a hammer.
This was the special attribute of bone demons. Their tough bones were their strongest weapon, and Goldbones were the kings of bone demons. The bone hammer clashed with the lightning fire spear.
But in the resultant explosion, it was Tang Xuanyu that was sent flying.
The golden bone hammer was covered in cracks that extended all the way to his shoulder.
“Raaaa!” Furyhorn let out an exultant cry.
Tang Xuanyu looked down at his bone hammer, anger flashing on his face.
In the end, he wasn’t a real Goldbone, so a bone arm created by a Divine Connection not being able to resist the enemy’s full-strength blow wasn’t strange.
But Tang Xuanyu had a personality that couldn’t accept defeat. Even though he wasn’t even using 10% of his power, he still couldn’t accept being pushed back by a demon.
Glaring at Furyhorn, he said, “Are you happy?”
He swung his arm again, the hammer transforming into a curved blade. It seemed like a regular attack, with only the subtle light on the edge indicating that it was far from ordinary.
Furyhorn still countered with his spear.
Furyhorn was planning to shatter this blade and cripple this Goldbone, but when their weapons clashed, he sensed an unstoppable power erupting from the blade.
A figure was sent flying, but this time, it was Furyhorn.
“You!” Stopping in the air, Furyhorn bellowed in disbelief.
Tang Xuanyu casually shrugged his shoulders. “Since you’ve attacked me, then this demon will exterminate you.”
He swung his arms at Furyhorn, both golden blades gleaming with that subtle light.
Furyhorn knew he was in trouble, sensing that this attack was even fiercer. His opponent was far stronger and seemed intent on killing him.
“We can talk about this!” Furyhorn shouted in a panic.
“There’s nothing to talk about. Die!”
Furyhorn hastily backed away, evading one blade while using the spear to block another. As he was sent flying by the impact, he shouted, “You idiots, what are you waiting for? Get in there and kill him!”
A large number of demons charged out at Tang Xuanyu.
Furyhorn was the mayor, after all, and he had his own subordinates.
Tang Xuanyu raised an eyebrow. “Just them? Nothing but clay dogs!”
As he spoke, Huangfu Meng flew out.
The Boneless Banshee unleashed a wave of black energy at the demons.
The battle had begun.
No, it was not a battle, but a one-sided massacre.
Huangfu Meng was like a butterfly, flitting among the demons, and every time she stopped, a demon would die.
Black and purple blood rained over the land as the demons fell to Huangfu Meng, not knowing who had killed them or how they had died. The corpses piled up, turning the town into a graveyard.
Yet the demons continued to charge at Huangfu Meng and Tang Xuanyu as if they didn’t care for their lives, their spell arts filling the skies.
But to Tang Xuanyu, these demons were just lambs to the slaughter. If he wanted to, he could kill all the demons of the town with a single strike.
Tang Xuanyu impatiently snorted, “Just a pile of trash seeking death!”
He thrust out his palm, sending a powerful shockwave out of his golden arm toward Furyhorn and his lackeys.
Furyhorn fell back in panic while two of his capable subordinates charged out to protect their master.
Tang Xuanyu casually thrust his hand forward, planning to kill the two, but at that moment, Huangfu Meng saw a strange glint in the eyes of those demons, a completely different aura suddenly appearing on their bodies.
This aura struck fear into Huangfu Meng, and alarms blared in her mind!
Paling, she shouted, “Not good! Xuanyu, dodge!”
Tang Xuanyu was startled, but at that moment, the two demons broke through Tang Xuanyu’s barrier, their palms striking him in the chest.
Tang Xuanyu flew through the air, his blood painting the skies.
