Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Don’t have time for bullshit!
Now out of the space and about to leave the restroom, she collided with Bonnie, who wore a worried expression on her face.
"Oh Luna! I got worried. Why the hell would you leave me like that? I was searching all over for you."
Bonnie practically cried out the words, and Luna froze as a deep hug suddenly enveloped her. The warmth of the embrace sent cold chills through her body.
She still didn’t understand why this girl kept following her around.
In her previous life, Luna had been a complete loner. Apart from a fake lover who later betrayed her, she had absolutely no one. No friends. No confidants. Nobody she could run to for help.
People had labeled her a snob.
Cold.
Unapproachable.
They never bothered to know the truth.
Now, given a fresh opportunity at life, Luna found herself torn.
What if Bonnie wasn’t genuine?
What if this was all an act?
Not like she could read minds.
Fuck.
That would have been cool.
Instead, she was forced to keep piling up her suspicions while watching everyone around her.
"Don’t do that to me, Luna," Bonnie said, pulling back slightly. "I care about you, and I’m supposed to know where you’re going. I don’t want anything to happen to you."
Luna blinked.
Was Bonnie seriously crying?
Actual tears rolled down the girl’s cheeks.
Like... seriously?
"I’m fine, Bonnie. Just sad about my grandma."
The moment she said it, Bonnie’s face fell even further.
Then the hug tightened.
Much tighter.
Almost enough to suffocate her.
"I’m here for you, Luna. No matter what happens, I won’t leave your side."
She held Luna’s hands firmly.
For some reason, Luna found herself smiling.
A small one.
A genuine one.
Although Bonnie appeared sincere, that didn’t mean Luna was ready to share everything with her.
Just look at her situation.
Something terrible was coming.
People were going to die.
A lot of people.
What about Bonnie?
Was she ready to lose her too?
"Come on," Luna finally said. "Let’s go see Grandma already."
Bonnie nodded.
Together they headed toward Martha’s ward.
However, before they could even reach the room, a loud cry echoed through the hallway.
Luna’s heart dropped.
Without hesitation she rushed forward.
The sight that greeted her made her blood run cold.
Martha lay on the hospital bed.
Foam spilled from her mouth.
Her body jerked violently as if she was being electrocuted.
Doctors and nurses surrounded her, desperately trying to save her life.
Luna’s throat tightened painfully.
Panic immediately flooded her system.
This wasn’t right.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
In her previous life, Martha had been seriously ill before dying.
But this time?
No.
This time Martha had been fine.
Luna was absolutely sure of it.
So what the hell was happening?
Bonnie stood frozen near the entrance, her expression grim as she watched the scene unfold.
Meanwhile Luna’s family crowded around the bed.
Madison.
James.
Ava.
And the brother.
They all wore concerned expressions.
Expressions that would have convinced anyone watching that they were a loving family.
But Luna knew better.
Far better.
"Get your evil hands off her."
The chilling voice exploded through the room.
Everyone froze.
Every single person.
The room became deathly silent.
Ava stared at Luna with complete shock.
James looked equally stunned.
Even Bonnie’s eyes widened.
Luna wasn’t trembling.
She wasn’t shrinking back.
The meek and timid Luna they knew was nowhere to be found.
And that was exactly what Luna wanted.
This life would be different.
No one was going to make her eat shit again.
"What are you saying?" Madison demanded.
Luna slowly turned toward the woman.
Her mother.
What a joke.
No disrespect though.
But these people weren’t worth it.
Especially Madison.
The woman had never cared enough to act like a mother.
She treated Luna as though she wasn’t truly her daughter.
So why should Luna give a fuck anymore?
"Oh, you want me to say it out loud?"
Her voice turned colder.
"Fine. Then I’ll say it."
Her eyes swept across all of them.
"You poisoned Grandma, didn’t you?"
The room became still.
"You don’t need to answer because it’s obviously yes."
Shock spread across every face.
James visibly trembled.
Even Nicholas, who had arrived moments ago, stared at her in disbelief.
"Luna, mind your useless self and get out right now," Madison snapped. "Don’t interfere because this is my family."
Luna laughed.
Actually laughed.
And the sound made everyone uncomfortable.
She didn’t move an inch.
At the corner, Bonnie stood frozen.
Poor girl looked terrified.
As if she expected someone to slap Luna at any moment.
Luna simply shook her head before turning toward Nicholas.
The man who had terrified her for years.
Back then, his massive build and muscles scared the hell out of her.
Whenever she stepped out of line, he beat her with canes.
He made sure she knew her place.
But today?
Things were different.
Today Luna intended to show them whose ground this really was.
"Me and you both know you’re the worthless one in this family."
Nicholas stiffened.
Luna wasn’t finished.
"The one who couldn’t build a life for himself or get a stable job even after finishing school."
The words landed perfectly.
Nicholas looked as if someone had punched him.
James kept gawking.
Ava’s expression wasn’t any better.
The pretentious whore looked genuinely frightened.
For the first time, she was seeing the hatred hidden beneath Luna’s harmless appearance.
And it terrified her.
Then a doctor emerged from the crowd.
His face carried the answer before he even spoke.
"We couldn’t save her."
Silence.
"She’s dead."
The words hit like a hammer.
Martha Hale was gone.
Just like that.
Dead.
Luna stared at her grandmother’s motionless body.
The world around her seemed to fade.
Everything became distant.
Muffled.
Empty.
She didn’t cry.
Didn’t scream.
Didn’t say a word.
Unknown to her, Nicholas was boiling with rage.
The humiliation.
The insults.
The challenge.
He couldn’t tolerate it.
With a furious roar, he charged forward and slapped Luna across the face.
The impact echoed loudly.
Her head jerked sideways.
For a moment stars danced across her vision.
The people around gasped.
Bonnie nearly screamed.
But then something unexpected happened.
Luna grinned.
Actually grinned.
Like a madwoman.
Slowly she turned back toward Nicholas.
The smile never left her face.
Before anyone could react—
SLAP!
Her palm connected with his cheek.
The force sent his head snapping sideways.
Then came another.
SLAP!
Even harder.
Nicholas staggered backward.
Blood slowly trickled from his nose.
Madison froze.
She had been ready to intervene.
Ready to support her precious son.
But seeing Luna retaliate so fiercely left her rooted in place.
Fear crept into her heart.
"Good."
Luna smiled wider.
"How does it feel?"
Nicholas stared at her.
Disbelief covered his face.
"How does it feel receiving your own share of terror?"
The room remained silent.
The irony was almost comical.
Nicholas never expected retaliation.
Certainly not two slaps powerful enough to leave him bleeding.
"You bitch!"
His voice thundered through the ward.
"How dare you!"
Bonnie visibly shook.
The intensity alone frightened her.
All she wanted was to drag Luna away from these monsters.
Because surely this wasn’t normal.
No family behaved like this.
Nicholas didn’t care that they were in a hospital.
Didn’t care about the patients.
Didn’t care about the doctors.
All he wanted was revenge.
The doctors themselves remained silent.
After all, the Hale family possessed wealth, shares, and influence.
Offending them would be career suicide.
Yet before Nicholas could move again, Luna stepped forward.
She stood directly in front of him.
Eye to eye.
Neither backing down.
Neither blinking.
"This is my last warning."
Her voice was calm.
Dangerously calm.
"Pussy man."
Nicholas’s face turned red.
"Don’t ever raise your hands against me again."
The room became silent.
"Because next time I’ll make you wish you were dead."
Every word dripped with certainty.
"And this isn’t a threat."
A shiver ran through several people.
Luna wasn’t bluffing.
They could all feel it.
Then she looked at the rest of them.
Madison.
James.
Ava.
Every single parasite standing there.
"One more thing."
Her voice cut through the room.
"You’re all leaving the mansion."
Instantly every face lost color.
Even Bonnie looked stunned.
Too stunned to speak.
"I want it sold immediately."
The declaration hit harder than a bomb.
Nobody moved.
Nobody breathed.
Nobody seemed capable of processing what they had just heard.
What had happened to Luna?
What exactly had changed?
Because this wasn’t the girl they knew.
This wasn’t the weak Luna they could manipulate.
The timid Luna they could insult.
The Luna who stayed silent.
No.
This version standing before them looked ready to burn the entire world if necessary.
Luna folded her arms.
Her patience was running thin.
Time wasn’t waiting for her.
The sooner she started preparing and stockpiling, the better her chances of survival would be.
"If you’re leaving, then leave."
Her voice turned icy.
"I don’t have time for this bullshit."
The room fell completely silent.
