Still trapped in the middle of the frozen ocean walls, the group stared upward at the terrifying height of the water surrounding them.
The walls were enormous.
They rose almost as high as the skyscrapers around them, towering over the group like gigantic frozen cliffs. The dark water had been frozen in place by Kai’s power, but even then, the sight was enough to make anyone’s heart pound.
One wrong move.
One crack in the ice.
And they would all be swallowed.
Ethan rubbed his arms, staring upward with a horrified expression.
"Oh, I got chills just now."
He looked around at the towering walls.
"I can’t believe we almost got swallowed by that. This mission is just stupid and silly."
Luna didn’t respond.
She knew exactly what Ethan was trying to do.
He wanted her to argue.
He wanted her to make some sarcastic comment or defend herself.
But Luna wasn’t in the mood.
She had enough problems already.
The supermarket had disappeared.
The ocean had somehow returned.
They were trapped inside a frozen wall of water.
And now the ice was starting to break.
She wasn’t going to waste time bantering with Ethan.
Instead, she turned toward Adrian.
"Adrian, I’m going to show you an image. Visualize it and take us there immediately."
She pulled up the image on her system.
"It’s the highest point of that building. The water level shouldn’t reach there."
At least, that was the best plan she could think of.
They needed somewhere to stay temporarily.
Somewhere high enough to avoid drowning.
Once they were safe, they could figure out where the hell the supermarket had been moved to.
Adrian looked at the image.
"Hmm."
He narrowed his eyes.
"When we do it, we need to be fast."
Kai suddenly spoke.
"Especially because the ice is breaking apart."
Everyone turned instinctively.
A loud cracking sound echoed around them.
CRACK!
A huge chunk of ice broke away from the wall.
It fell several meters before crashing into the ground.
BOOM!
The impact sent pieces of frozen water flying.
More cracks appeared.
One after another.
Kai’s expression became serious.
"Yeah."
He looked upward.
"This isn’t going to hold much longer."
Luna immediately climbed down from Rowan’s arms.
Her boots hit the wet ground.
She didn’t waste another second.
Her fingers moved rapidly across the invisible system panel as she swiped through different options.
She needed a location.
Something high.
Something stable.
Something that could withstand the force of the ocean.
Her eyes moved quickly across the information displayed before her.
Finally, she found what she wanted.
She turned the screen toward Adrian.
"This looks long enough."
Adrian studied the image.
Before he could respond, Kai shook his head.
"No."
Luna looked at him.
"What?"
"That’s not a good idea."
Kai pointed toward the enormous walls surrounding them.
"Look at those waves."
The frozen ocean was still moving behind the ice.
The water pressed against the walls with terrifying force.
"If you send us to the top of that building, what’s going to happen when this breaks?"
Luna’s eyes narrowed.
Kai continued.
"The waves are strong enough to destroy the building. If the water hits it directly, the entire thing could collapse."
Luna stared at the image.
Her expression slowly darkened.
She had thought it was perfect.
High enough.
Large enough.
Easy enough for Adrian to reach.
But Kai was right.
The building might not survive the ocean.
Luna groaned.
"For fuck’s sake."
Rowan immediately moved toward her.
He could already recognize that expression.
She was frustrated.
Angry.
And probably seconds away from doing something reckless.
He wanted to calm her down.
But before he could say anything, Luna lifted a hand.
"Don’t."
Rowan stopped.
"You’re going to tell me to calm down, aren’t you?"
She glared at him.
"Keep that to yourself."
Her voice was sharp.
"I can’t be fucking calm when we’re all going to drown if we stay here for another minute!"
She pointed toward the cracking walls.
"I’m seriously going to kill that crazy bitch who interfered with my plan and moved the supermarket away!"
Her fists clenched.
"It ruined everything!"
She looked around as though she needed something to grab.
Anything.
She wanted to pull something until it snapped.
Unfortunately, there was nothing.
Adrian suddenly looked past them.
His expression changed.
"Wait."
Everyone looked at him.
He pointed toward the top of the frozen water wall.
"Look at that."
Luna followed his gaze.
At the very top of the enormous wall, something massive could be seen in the distance.
A silhouette.
It was difficult to make out because of the height of the frozen water.
Adrian narrowed his eyes.
"What is that?"
Luna immediately turned back to her system.
Her fingers moved rapidly.
The system responded almost instantly.
A scanning function activated.
The view in front of them changed as information began appearing.
Luna waited.
Then the result appeared.
[A hill has been detected.]
[A cave is located on the hill.]
[The cave is not entirely empty.]
Luna’s eyes narrowed.
"That’s not an issue."
She glanced toward the towering water.
"We can deal with whatever is inside the cave."
Her gaze hardened.
"But we can’t deal with this ocean."
The system continued scanning.
Luna’s eyes widened when the next information appeared.
[Multiple human lifeforms detected.]
[The supermarket has been relocated to the hill.]
Silence.
Everyone stared at Luna.
"What the hell?"
Luna couldn’t hide her shock.
The supermarket was there.
She had been searching for it.

And now they had just discovered exactly where it had gone.

"Perfect."
She looked at Adrian.
"That’s our destination."
Adrian stared at the hill.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."

"You’re going to create a portal there."
She showed him the location.
"We teleport immediately before this water washes us away."
It sounded simple.

Adrian didn’t say anything for a moment.
His muscles were already beginning to ache.

Rowan noticed.
"Maybe we should have brought the vehicle."
Luna looked at him.
Rowan continued.
"Moving through portals like this is dangerous. No matter how powerful Adrian is, he can get tired."
He glanced toward Adrian.
"And SSS-class awakened aren’t invincible."
Luna sighed.
"If we brought the vehicle, how exactly were we supposed to move it through this?"
She pointed toward the frozen ocean.
"The waves would have swallowed us."
Rowan opened his mouth.
Luna continued before he could respond.
"It’s better this way."
She touched the crystal embedded in her equipment.
"And with my crystal, Adrian won’t get tired so easily."
She looked at Adrian.
"This is the last portal. After this, we rest."
Rowan stared at her.
"You don’t know, do you?"
Luna’s eyes narrowed.
"Know what?"
"You think you know everything."
Rowan’s voice was unusually blunt.
"The stronger an awakened becomes, the more energy their body needs when using that power."
He pointed toward Adrian.
"The more he uses his ability, the more exhausted he gets. And when someone keeps forcing their power beyond what their body can handle, it can backfire."
Luna’s expression hardened.
Rowan wasn’t finished.
"And there’s something else."
His eyes moved around them.
"Power attracts things."
Luna said nothing.
"Sometimes abominations can sense the essence released by powerful awakened. They follow it."
He looked at Adrian.
"So SSS-class or not, he can’t keep using his ability without rest."
Rowan’s expression became grim.
"If he overdoes it, we could end up with something worse than the ocean coming after us."
Luna’s eyes locked onto his.
"Then help us escape."
Rowan frowned.
"What?"
"If you know so much, then turn that knowledge into something useful."
CRACK!
The ground suddenly shook.
Everyone stumbled.
A gigantic piece of ice broke away from the wall.
It fell directly toward Luna.
"Luna!"
Adrian moved instantly.
He shoved her out of the way.

The massive ice struck the ground where she had been standing.
Adrian barely escaped being crushed.
Luna stumbled backward.
Rowan’s face darkened.
"You see what the fuck I’m saying?"
He pointed toward the fallen ice.
"He almost got killed!"
Adrian was breathing heavily.
Rowan continued.
"What if he wasn’t fast enough? He would have been impaled by that ice!"
His anger was no longer hidden.
"This mission is dangerous, Luna!"
He glared at her.
"You’re being selfish. If you weren’t so obsessed with taking that supermarket, we would have been safe!"
Luna’s expression immediately turned cold.
"Safe?"
She pointed toward the enormous frozen ocean.
"Look around you!"
She turned toward another cracking section.
"If we keep arguing back and forth like little children, we’re all going to fucking perish here!"
Another crack echoed.
Luna’s voice rose.
"It’s either the ice crushes us, or the ocean washes us away!"
Rowan stopped.
His eyes slowly shifted toward the wall.
Another enormous section of ice was already beginning to separate.
He stared.
Then dragged a hand down his face.
"Fuck."
He had nothing to say to that.
Ethan looked toward Adrian.
"Can you create another portal?"
Adrian turned toward him.
His breathing was still heavy, but he smiled.
"I can."
Ethan raised an eyebrow.
"You’re sure?"
"I’m not tired."
He paused.
"At least, not enough to stop."
Luna immediately pulled up the image of the hill.
The system displayed the location clearly.
Adrian stared at it.
He closed his eyes.
His breathing slowed.
He began visualizing the destination.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then—
A faint pulse traveled through his hands.
Sparks began appearing around his fingers.
The ground beneath his feet started glowing.
Adrian’s power spread outward.
The air distorted.
A strange pressure formed around them.
Kai looked upward.
