Chapter 274 - 234: A Village Run by Women (3)

Chapter 274: Chapter 234: A Village Run by Women (3)

Or perhaps there were just too many Hummingbirds, so a hundred fewer weren’t even noticeable.

"Zhao Zhe was originally in charge of three mines, five thousand acres of fertile farmland, nearly seventeen hundred acres of orchards, three brothels, and a prison... Seventh Young Master, they’re all your responsibility now."

Elder Liu of the Law Enforcement Hall held a stack of documents, going over them with Tang Wen one by one.

Tang Wen, however, was pinching the bridge of his nose, looking thoroughly exasperated.

’This isn’t how the script was supposed to go at all!’

’With Zhao Zhe out of the picture, shouldn’t everyone else be scrambling to seize power? Why are so many of his assets ending up in my hands?’

’Couldn’t they have given them to my Senior Sister?’

He didn’t even need to ask; he already knew the answer was no.

Recently, the Elders and Vice Gang Leaders from the Eldest Young Master’s faction had been making concessions and showing goodwill toward Shui Yun.

Shui Yun was far busier than he was.

"Seventh Young Master!" Elder Liu’s tone grew stern.

"I’ll get someone to handle it. I’ll get someone right now! Liang Yu, Shu Mei, you two come here and take charge of these assets. There’s no room for error!"

Liang Yu and the female steward dared not object. With heads bowed, they stepped forward to receive the documents.

Vice Gang Leader Liu’s face was stern, his eye twitching. ’The Fourth Young Master calls himself a Martial Fool, but he’s a fraud. This Seventh Young Master... he’s the real damn Martial Fool, only willing to hole up in seclusion and refusing to manage a single thing!’

’Tossing this much power to a pair of Female Martial Artists?’

’The nerve of him!’

No one in the gang dared to contest Tang Wen taking over these assets.

There were two reasons for this. First, he had casually and utterly ruined Zhao Zhe. Second, he himself was just too damn impressive.

The gang had suffered setbacks recently, and morale was low.

So, the Gang Leader went ahead and announced the news of Tang Wen’s breakthrough into the Extraordinary realm.

Unbelievable.

An eighteen-year-old in the Extraordinary realm.

Not even the Three Great Families of the Inner City had such a genius.

Everyone’s spirits were instantly lifted.

But when it came to these assets, who would dare try to compete with him?

Even if they weren’t thinking of themselves, they had to consider their children and future generations, right?

"Kid! Can you handle this or not? If you don’t want the job, say so now and we’ll find someone else."

The Eldest Young Master had been the first to earn his title, and his faction was the largest among the young masters. His subordinates, including slaves, numbered over ten thousand.

"I can! I can!" Tang Wen wasn’t foolish enough to simply hand over power.

"Zhao Zhe had several Extraordinaries under his command. Martial Artists alone won’t be able to keep things under control."

The implication was clear: don’t get lazy and try to pawn this off on those two women.

Tang Wen knew they couldn’t handle it. He asked, "Who’s the biggest troublemaker? I’ll deal with one of them first."

A smile touched the corners of Elder Liu’s lips. He pointed to the map of the Black Water Gang’s territory, tapping two locations. "I’ve had my people do some digging. There’s the Sand Salt Camp and the White Tiger Village."

"Oh?" Tang Wen didn’t see what was so special about them.

Elder Liu explained, "I call them troublemakers because these two factions recognized only Zhao Zhe. They also have some real power. The leader of the Sand Salt Camp, Sha Kui, cultivates the Dark Department Technique. He should be at the Extraordinary Peak, a Half-Step Sixth Grade."

He paused after speaking to gauge Tang Wen’s reaction.

’Only a Half-Step Sixth Grade? If he dares to cause trouble, I’ll crush him.’

Elder Liu thought Tang Wen was planning to use the gang’s power and warned him, "You’re eighteen and at the Initial Entry into the Extraordinary realm. He’s over fifty. He might not attack you personally, and even if he does, he’ll likely hold back. As long as you can withstand it, he’ll acknowledge you. But you cannot bring the gang’s masters to overwhelm him. If you do, he’ll never truly be your subordinate!"

"Understood."

"The people of Sand Salt Camp are outsiders. They seized the southernmost salt mine to make a life for themselves. There are thirteen of them in total, known as the Thirteen Thieves of the Desert Sea."

"Are they all Extraordinaries?" Tang Wen’s heart skipped a beat. ’One against thirteen? That’s some serious pressure.’

"How could that be? There are five Extraordinaries. The rest are at least First-class Martial Artists!"

Upon hearing there were only five Extraordinaries, Tang Wen stopped worrying. "And the other place?"

Elder Liu curled his lip. ’Young people have to suffer a bit before they learn their lesson.’

He continued, "White Tiger Village is a settlement left over from ancient times. They practice the Wind Department Technique. What’s special about them is that the ones in charge are all women."

Tang Wen’s eyes lit up. "Elder Liu, do tell me more."
