Chapter 1957: Fierce Battle In Trial Land II
Chapter 1957: Fierce Battle In Trial Land II
Klaus had already predicted Alice would help at the crucial moment, to make sure it was possible, he took the liberty of also attacking her opponent after getting help from Void. He did not need to communicate his intentions to Alice, after being friends for so long, she already knew what was going through his head when he helped her out.
Her opponent was an Eighth stage Sovereign, not as powerful as the Ninth stage Sovereign Gnome chasing after Klaus. As long as they could deal with Klaus’s opponent, her opponent was as good as dead.
Being enveloped by Klaus’s heavy water, the pressure alone almost crushed the Gnome. The Gnome survived the initial pressure, only to realize it would have been better if he did not resist the pressure and let it kill him from the start: at least that way he would not have to go through the struggle of being unable to breathe.
The water passed through his nostrils, mouth, ears, and even his eyes, drowning him in a matter of mere seconds.
The trio watched the Gnome bleed from his eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. There was no pity in their eyes. The destruction and deaths the Gnomes have caused to the Human Race was far worse than just one Gnome dying in a gruesome manner.
The trio turned their attention to the Eighth stage Sovereign who just freed himself from Klaus’s attack which previously froze him. He watched his companion dying in a miserable manner, and he did not want to follow his footsteps. He was not even as strong as his dead companion in the first place, there was no way he would be able to deal with the trio’s attacks. He tried to escape, only to be trapped by Void’s domain.
Void’s domain was quite strange, being able to even trap Ninth stage Sovereigns. Some Peak Sovereigns would not even know when they get trapped inside it, much less an Eighth stage Sovereign.
They killed the Eighth stage Sovereign in a matter of seconds, before turning their attention to the nearest Gnome.
…
Deep inside True Dawn.
Three Gnomes could be seen trying to break into a building. This building was underground, surrounded by multiple flickering arrays.
“What’s happening outside?” One of the Gnomes asked with a frown.
“Help came from the outside.” Another one replied after a short silence.
“How come? Didn’t you say the Humans were all stuck in their safe zone?” The last Gnome asked with a look of shock.
“Yes, I even received reports before we came in here and they were indeed still there taking care of the traveling refugees.” The second Gnome felt a headache. This was out of their expectations and plans.
The first Gnome frowned before saying, “We should focus on breaking these arrays. Once we’re done with it, we don’t need to concern ourselves with the outcome of the battle outside.”
“Grey Dawson is outside.” The second Gnome said. He was the one who was in charge of communicating with the other Gnomes, so he was more or less aware of what was happening outside.
“Grey Dawson? How is that possible?” The third Gnome asked in surprise. They have all heard of Grey’s infamous name in the Gnome World and knew he spelled trouble. If he was outside, then things would be difficult.
“I have no idea.” The second Gnome shook his head, before adding, “Last I heard, he attacked that Old Man’s hideout close to their safe zone. I don’t know how he managed to get here in such a short time.”
“He was even able to locate him?” The first Gnome had an incredulous expression on his face. Over the past few weeks, they have received different news saying someone that fits perfectly with Grey’s description has been attacking one hideout after another. If it was just one or two, they would take it as coincidence. However, he had successfully attacked over eight hideouts. He was even present when the portal that could bring Peak Sovereign to the Human World was destroyed. According to the Old Man, Grey was the one who destroyed it. They still had no idea how he was able to contain it, nevertheless, he was involved in that incident as well.
Looking back on the past few weeks, the name that has been called the most during their meetings was none other than Grey Dawson.
“There’s a rumor he can use long distance teleportations thanks to his space element.” The second Gnome mentioned.
“It’s impossible!’ The first Gnome did not believe this rumor, feeling it’s hearsay, “Even a Half God Plane Space Elementalist will not be able to achieve such long distance teleportations.”
“Teleportation arrays?”
“Most likely. If they have multiple teleportation arrays set up in different areas, it explains why they are able to come here so soon.” The third Gnome felt this explanation was more feasible.
The second Gnome felt the same way too.
“We should focus on breaking the array and leaving.”
The other Gnomes nodded, agreeing to the first Gnome’s words. Anywhere Grey has appeared in, the Humans would undoubtedly win due to his restraint on the Gnomes’ Puppets. Knowing their companions were likely to lose, they did not have any intentions of staying behind to see the outcome.
They stopped talking and focused on the task ahead.
….
Back on the battlefield, no one was aware there were Gnomes secretly breaking into the building underground, not even the Half God Plane experts of True Dawn. They were all focused on fighting the Half God Plane experts in front of them.
Since the arrival of the two Half God Plane experts that came with Grey, they have gained the upper hand against the Gnomes, and have even successfully injured two of them.
If Grey was here, he would recognize the Old Man who had some connections with the Bunny Leader. The Old Man currently had a long gash on his shoulder, with blood oozing out of it. Even with that, his facial expression was unperturbed, not flinching as he struck with one attack after another.
In the air, there were eight Human Half God Plane experts, including the duo who came with Grey. While on the side of the Gnomes, there were only six, even if they included the Half God Plane Puppet with them, they still fell short by one. The Gnome with the Puppet was highly wary of Grey, so his Puppet only made occasional appearances. He had no idea Grey could not cut off the connections between a Half God Plane expert and their Puppet, if he did, their situation would not be this bad after the duo joined the other Humans.
He looked at the other battlefield, upon seeing Grey still running riot with a Peak Sovereign Gnome chasing after him, he felt frustrated. The only way he could confidently use his Puppet was if Grey was not present, he saw how Grey immobilized the four Peak Sovereigns. Those Sovereigns were people highly touted to break through to the Half God Plane in a matter of a few years, yet they were unable to react when faced with Grey’s evil technique.
His gaze darted to the depths of True Dawn.
‘Aren’t they done yet?’ He regretted not being part of the group that went to break the seal. He did not think this task would be difficult. According to what he knew, there would have been no way for these people to call for help. With the intention of acquiring a second Half God Plane Puppet, he volunteered to fight here. If he could kill a Half God Plane expert, he was promised the body. Not just him, all six Half God Plane experts sent here were promised the same thing, and when the battle started a few hours ago, things were going their way. They never expected these Humans would be so difficult to kill and even got help in the end.
The six Gnomes were frustrated, but knew once the other three were done with their tasks, they would rush here to help them. They did not know the trio had already decided to leave this place after finding out Grey was here with help. They knew the six Gnomes were in danger, and if they left that place to come help, there was no way they would be able to break the seal. The only reason they have a shot at breaking it now was because the leader of True Dawn did not activate the protection array there. This was not their first encounter with True Dawn, they knew just how deadly their Faction protection array is and did not have the intention of experiencing it.
The six Gnomes were on their own, of course, they knew nothing of this, and fought as hard as they could, making sure they distracted these Humans from sensing anything happening there.
Boom! Bang! Bam!
The world shook from their attacks, with spatial tears appearing continuously. It was already a miracle this small world was still standing even with such powerhouses clashing.
