Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1834: The Long River of Time

Chapter 1834: The Long River of Time

The authority over the world was gradually shifting. The Dark Sect Master remained in the sky, the sun, the moon, and the stars gathering around her, flickering with every breath she took. She was truly like a deity of creation, replacing the world's will with her own.

The countless living creatures witnessed this scene in utter fear. Even the recently ascended Rulers could feel a terrifying will fill the world, causing them to feel as though they were submerged in quicksand. All of the worldly natural energy started to roar, turning into a toxic substance that began to erode away at the living.

Li Luo's goal of becoming the Absolute Ruler had been hijacked by the Dark Sect Master. Once his lofty position fell into her hands, the entire world would be under her control. At that point in time, she would be more than capable of ending the delicate balance between her and Li Luo, obtaining overall victory.

Li Luo had thought of a wonderful idea in order to end the battle. Alas, it was a double-edged sword and the Dark Sect Master had a greater advantage than he had assumed. She had inherited the Heavenly Fate of both the Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption, two legendary existences that were renowned throughout both worlds and across time.

If Li Luo could be considered this era's chosen one, then the Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption were his equivalent from the previous era. As a result, the Dark Sect Master easily took control of the world, gaining an advantage in becoming the Absolute Ruler. Li

Luo's expression grew sullen at this moment. This battle had reached its most dangerous point. However, the situation wasn't dire just yet. This was a path that Li Luo had created, and he had set up some safeguards for himself.

The Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption's names had been uttered countless times over the centuries, accumulating fate over multiple eras. Although he had become a supreme tenth-grade expert, his influence had not exceeded theirs. However, this wasn't enough to completely overwhelm him.

"Time," Li Luo murmured to himself.

A magnificent river that only he could see was reflected in his eyes. It flowed endlessly with no end in sight. This was the River of Time that the world occupied. He had sacrificed his time resonance, but as long as it could exist, the void resonance's ability to be anything and everything allowed him to tap into its power.

The Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption were as eye-catching as the sun and the moon across history. One commanded endless respect, whereas the other instilled endless fear. No one was comparable in any other era in terms of importance.

Thus, Li Luo took a different approach. He could not accomplish this alone. However, he could travel through time, gather countless outstanding individuals, and condense their Heavenly Fate together. These individuals were naturally less impressive individually, but if enough of them converged, their Heavenly Fate could not be underestimated. The sun and moon were the brightest objects in the sky, but if enough stars gathered in one spot, they would radiate a comparably bright glow.

Gathering talented individuals from countless eras sounded unimaginable, but it was not impossible for Li Luo. The River of Time gradually became clearer in his eyes. It represented the past, and according to common logic, no one could influence what had already happened. This was because no one could go back in time, not even gods.

However, Li Luo could. His time resonance allowed him to connect with time itself. He also possessed the void resonance, so he was everywhere as long as he willed it, including the past. Although he wouldn't possess the same power he had in the present, a lingering shadow was more than enough.

His will split into billions of strands, appearing across every period of time. He searched for the strongest experts who had risen to the pinnacle in each era and gathered their Heavenly Fate. This resulted in strands of Heavenly Fate starting to emerge from the River of Time. A glorious amount of Heavenly Fate started to gather in his hands, and his gaze grew increasingly profound in the process.

Li Luo went through countless experiences. Each one was over with quickly, but he felt as if he had lived through countless long eras. Even so, the amount of Heavenly Fate he had gathered was not enough. He sighed in his heart. The Sect Master and the Origin of Absolute Corruption were simply too terrifying. They had created everything, and all subsequent eras were overshadowed by their fame.

He continued to traverse the River of Time, moving forward and gathering more and more Heavenly Fate. Unknowingly, he had experienced countless eras. Countless eras had gone by like flowing water but his footsteps suddenly began to slow down. Surprise filled him as he suddenly came to a stop.

"How could this happen?" he thought as a look of incredulity and disbelief appeared in his eyes.

As he walked through countless eras, he suddenly realized that one very important individual had been missing throughout time. That person was the Sacred Void Resonance Sect's progenitor!

Li Luo's gaze deepened, and a surge of emotion filled his heart. Despite searching through countless eras, he had not encountered a single trace of the founder of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. It was as though that individual had never existed. However, if that were the case, how had the Sacred Void Resonance Sect come about?

The Sect Master had talked about a lucky encounter in her youth. She had received the teachings of the progenitor before even joining the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. That encounter eventually led her to reach incredible heights, yet it seemed like that person never existed. In that case, who was the one who had taught her?

A chill ran through Li Luo's entire body, born from a deep sense of unease and doubt. As he gazed at the River of Time, his body became still like a stone statue. All sorts of deductions and suppositions run through his mind as he considered every possibility. This went on until a particular moment.

Peng!

A crisp sound rang out from between his eyebrows. Someone had flicked his forehead while he was lost in thought.

Li Luo saw Jiang Qing'e's delicate face when he snapped back to reality. He looked at her in surprise. This was not something Jiang Qing'e would usually do. The Sect Master had done the same thing for some reason.

When faced with Li Luo's shocked expression, Jiang Qing'e gave a shallow smile and softly said, "When the remnant of her will dissipated, her memories appeared in my mind, allowing me to learn many things."

The Sect Master's memories had appeared in Jiang Qing'e's mind. It was clear that the relationship between them was much more complicated than Li Luo had thought.

"Do you know..." Jiang Qing'e started, her expression filled with interest as she studied Li Luo's face. She continued, "Do you know what I saw in one of those memories?"

Li Luo's eyes rippled, but he smiled and asked, "What did you see?"

"I saw... you."
