A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1332 1332: Hidebehinds

Archer watched as the swamp became a battlefield of pure death. Each one of Inara’s swings cut the monsters into pieces with ease, which sent blood and guts flying all over the place.

‘Even without sex, she’s strong and fast,’ he thought with a smile.

Seconds later, a fourth creature darted in, snapping at her heels with a vicious snap of its maw, but she quickly rolled forward, springing up behind it to deliver a skilled backhanded slash through its spine.

The dinosaur crumpled, and for a fleeting moment, the others hesitated, their primal instincts faltering before her warrior aura. He smiled as the older woman slaughtered a dozen Troodons with skill.

”Well done Inara,” Archer commented with a proud smile. ”I see you’re skilled with the sword and move quick, which is amazing.”

”They were fast but I’m faster and deadlier,” she replied while cleaning off her blade. ”Never seen monsters like that though.”

Following that, the duo continued through the primal jungle, fighting off many monsters that tried attacking them from the shadows until finding a clearing full of Blue Magic Grass that he started collecting as Inara appeared beside him.

”I know Morena will help your grandparents, she’s a skilled mage and potion maker,” the lioness said with a confident smile.

He looked at her with a raised eyebrow, replying with a curious expression. ”You’ve already met her?”

”Yes and Demacia as well,” the older woman answered with a smile. ”Lovely ladies, quirky but that’s why I like them, they don’t care about a person’s status and treat everyone the same.”

Archer let out a soft chuckle, unfazed by the situation. With so many women around him now, their loyalty meant he no longer felt the need to keep tabs on them. Shaking his head, he turned his attention back to gathering more Blue Magic Grass.

”What ingredients are left hun?” Inara questioned some time later while handing him a bundle of grass, which he stored away.

”Poisonbell and Screaming Wood Bark,” he answered. ”They are the two hardest to get but it shouldn’t be a problem for us.”

After speaking, a sudden sensation prickled at Archer’s senses, alerting him to something lurking in the shadows while watching them with malice. He instantly felt the hostility radiating from the newcomer.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a Mana Blast into the forest. The lioness at his side leapt back with a yelp as an explosion tore through the trees, revealing a bizarre humanoid figure that crumpled to the ground, lifeless.

This caught his interest, prompting him to send a message to the cat princess. ‘My beautiful cat, I burrow you for ten minutes please?’

Moments later, a portal opened as the elegant Leira stepped through with a big smile while cradling her stomach, which caught his attention, putting a smile on his face. The cat woman spotted the monster and went stiff, she grabbed onto his arm.

”I know these monsters my love, and their bad news,” she whispered in a low voice. ”The children call them Hidebehinds, creatures who watch their victims from behind trees before attacking and dragging them off.”

When Archer heard this, he sent out a wave of mana only for his eyes to narrow as hundreds of things surrounded them, slowly moving closer like they were sneaky. This caused him to smile before sending Leira back.

”Get back to the palace beautiful. I’ll come see you once I’ve collected the ingredients for Morena’s potion,” he said in a concerned voice. ”There’s more of the Hidebehinds lurking around us and I don’t want you to be harmed.”

Archer gave her a gentle kiss, her cheeks flushing a deep red as her tail swished with excitement. ”I’ll see you soon husband,” Leira replied, stepping back with a smile before entering the portal.

The mature woman beamed just as the Gate closed and they were left alone in the quiet but creepy jungle. Archer turned toward the lioness. ”Grab onto my arm, we are surrounded by the monsters,” he warned in a low tone.

Inara did as he said, while her other hand found the hilt of her sword. Following this, he quickly summoned a dozen Nightmare Ant Assassin who encircled them in a protective circle.

When she saw this, her red eyes widened in amazement as the insectoid warriors were ready to fight, their talons and mandibles gleamed in the light that pierced the green canopy above.

”Capture every monster that’s trying to attack us,” he ordered.

Moments later, a chittering noise echoed out as the assassins lunged into the jungle and started killing the Hidebehinds. Their talons sliced through the humanoid’s bodies with ease before they dropped to the ground.

Inara watched this with wide eyes as a river of blood stained the ground. ”These monsters are stronger than Rank S monsters, what are they?”

”Vivienne’s strongest ant aside from her guardians but they only appear when she’s in the real world,” he replied while throwing the Hidebehind bodies into the Domain and continued through the jungle.

Following that, the two of them trekked for hours until Inara spoke up and asked in a curious tone. ”Where will we find this Poisonbell? I bet some form of nightmare is connected to it.”

”Ermm, the Tressyms found the plants in the swamp north of here,” he replied while cutting down some thick foliage that blocked their path. ”A giant snake is guarding it though, there aren’t many of them so we’ll have to be careful.”

”Are you not worried about all these strong monsters?” she broke the silence after a few minutes.

Archer shook his head. ”No, I enjoy fighting them and exploring this place but thanks to the war I haven’t had a chance to do it since discovering it a while back.”

The couple pressed on for a few more hours until the sun dipped below the horizon, plunging the jungle into an inky blackness. Only the eerie glow of strange plants illuminated their path, casting faint light around them.

Inara’s nerves got the better of her, and she clung tightly to his arm while glancing around. He looked at the mature woman with a smile before scanning their surroundings as monster roars echoed across the jungle.

”Do you want to camp out here?” he suddenly questioned the older woman. ”It would be nice to spend time together.”

When the lioness heard that she quickly nodded, smiling as her tail swayed excitedly. ”That would be amazing, this place is beautiful but dangerous.”

Following that, Archer quickly found some flat ground and cast Cosmic Shield to protect them from all the deadly creatures. While he set up for the night, Inara cringed when seeing a wave of large insects climbing over the barrier.

”What are these creepy things?” she asked while cringing.

He looked up and noticed all the beasts before casually answering. ”Those are the insects that swarm through the underbrush in this hellhole.”

The older woman’s eyes widened in shock as she spoke again. ”Why haven’t I seen them since you summoned me here?”

Archer rose to his feet with a hearty laugh, stepping toward the edge of their sheltered spot. The sudden movement sent a swarm of insects skittering into the surrounding jungle, fleeing in all directions.

”They are scared of my mana which I’ve been using it to keep them away,” he explained.

When hearing this, Inara quickly relaxed at the sight, which made him happy as she was calmer and not panicking over the creepy insects. With a relieved smile, she launched herself at him, wrapping her arms around him in a tight, grateful hug.

Moments later, she tiptoed and gave him a passionate kiss. Archer’s hands settled on her waist as a shiver raced down his spine. Inara grew wilder with each passing moment, her energy untamed.

Then, with a sudden pause, she pulled back, her eyes ablaze with desire, before leaning in to sink her teeth into his neck. He let out a groan as she tugged him toward the tent before the two entered.

Inara straddled him with a wild smile. ”You know how many years I’ve been imagining spending the night together?” she asked.

”Since we met all those years ago?” he answered. ”I remember the way you looked at me when first meeting.”

When the older woman heard this, her expression lit up before speaking excitedly. ”Yes, I thought you forgot about me but when we met again I realized you didn’t when I saw the look in your eyes.”

Following that, Archer leaned forward and started kissing her once again while taking off her armor that fell to the tent floor. Seconds later, Inara’s boobs bounced out, now they were free which ignited his lust.

Inara’s rich brown skin shimmered under the soft glow of the mana lights illuminating the tent. Her upper body was a striking blend of strength and femininity, muscular yet graceful, a combination he adored.
