My CEO Husband Has Some Issues

Chapter 1735 - 1736: Always Talking About Death

Chapter 1735: Chapter 1736: Always Talking About Death

She inexplicably wanted to laugh, and then let out a chuckle, no longer feeling the awkwardness from Lin Zhiya noticing the mark on her neck earlier. She felt much more relaxed and her demeanor gradually returned to normal.

Li Shengxiao saw her little actions through the car’s front mirror. His thin lips slightly curled up, and he spoke in a steady, reliable tone, "You don’t have to pay attention to him. That’s just how he is, unpredictable. Qin Jun is indeed as he says, capricious and rather dangerous, but I think he harbors no ill-will towards you."

"I know."

Initially, Qin Jun was full of malice towards her, even buying shares to force her out of KT Entertainment, deliberately spreading negative words to suppress her resources in the circle.

But later, for some unknown reason, Qin Jun somehow stopped deliberately suppressing her.

There were even several times when she and Chu Xi were on opposite sides, and Qin Jun chose to stand by her side and speak up for her.

Including that time on Chu Xi’s birthday, when she deliberately picked on her, he also stood by her, revealing quite a few of Chu Xi’s secrets.

So, for the few times Qin Jun asked her out, she did not refuse.

She just couldn’t figure out what caused Qin Jun’s attitude to change so drastically. She suspected it was because of Mrs. Jiang, maybe Mrs. Jiang said something to him, and that’s why he didn’t continue to target her.

The car drove all the way to the hospital.

Rong Yan headed straight to the operating room, thinking she had made it in time to see Jiang Chenyue, only to find that the operating room door was already closed when she arrived, with the red signal indicating that surgery was underway.

Outside the operating room were Chu Xi and the Chu Garden’s butler.

Seeing her arrival, Chu Xi’s face suddenly changed, and she asked guardedly and sharply, "What are you doing here!"

Rong Yan ignored her and walked straight over.

Chu Xi’s face became increasingly unsightly. She viciously opened her arms to block Rong Yan, "I’m asking you a question, what are you doing here? Come to watch the fun?"

Just as she finished speaking, she noticed Li Shengxiao was also behind.

Her breath slightly paused, and a feeling of being humiliated overwhelmed her, almost suffocating her, "My mom hasn’t even died yet, and you’re already impatient to bring people here to humiliate me? Ha. Do you think this will make me embarrassed? What a joke. Do you think the Lin Family recognizes you as their daughter-in-law?"

Rong Yan suddenly frowned, shrugged her off, and said irritably, "Are you nuts? Mrs. Jiang is just undergoing surgery, nothing about dying, watch your mouth!"

Chu Xi, being scolded, was first stunned and then immediately fumed with rage, almost exploding. Just as she was about to catch up with Rong Yan to argue, unexpectedly, the old butler beside her stopped her, and with a stern face, he said seriously, "Miss, the madam is undergoing surgery. You’re making such a commotion that it’s likely to affect the doctors treating the madam in the operating room. Please keep quiet."

"Even you are siding with her?" Chu Xi’s face grew redder, with shades of livid anger, as she furiously shook off his hand and said loudly, "Do you all understand that the person inside is my mom? What are you siding with her for? My mom isn’t even dead yet, and you’re all getting out of line!"

Rong Yan heard her mention death again, her eyes turned cold, and she stopped in her tracks. She abruptly turned back, raised her hand, and slapped her hard across the face.

"Smack!"

A crisp sound of a slap echoed down the hallway. Chu Xi trembled as she covered her face, her eyes wide open, her eyeballs almost popping out, looking as if she was about to devour Rong Yan, "How dare you hit me?"

Her astonished look was like one who had suffered immense humiliation, unable to control her emotions altogether.
